Oscar has had some pretty interesting relationships with the other characters on the Street. He always had a special "pet name" for so many of the others:

Big Bird: "The Big Canary," "Big Yellow Turkey"
Gordon: "Chrome Dome"
Elmo: "Little Red Menace"
Bob: "Blue Eyes"
Maria: "Skinny"

Most notably, he always had a very specific relationship with Maria (and it is somewhat mentioned in the Unpaved book). It was kind of a love-hate thing or something. He famously always used to call her "Skinny." I haven't heard him use that name for a long time though, but he did. It almost sounded like a come-on whenever he said it. Or like a flirtatious line. You know, even in his grouchlike ways.

Anyone else remember any other nicknames Oscar had for the other characters? He had one for just about every one of the human characters at the time. Although, I don't remember if he ever had one for Susan which is interesting. What about you guys?

I am sure he had one for Telly. Maybe Grungetta. Can't think of them though.
I remember in Elmo Saves Christmas, he called Lightnight the Reindeer "Bambi Face"

Oscar used to also call Gordon "Curly."

In the episode where they all prepare to go to Puerto Rico, Oscar tells Gordon to come over and lift his trash can off the barrel by saying: "Hey Curly, come over here!"

Curly? Hmm interesting.

Didn't he call someone "Smiley"? Was that Bob, or maybe that was Susan. He called Susan something once. Was it "Nursy"?

Curly, I guess, as in Moe, Larry, and Curly of the 3 Stooges.

Oscar used to ALWAYS call Gordon "Curly" and Maria "Skinny" (Sonia Manzano LOVED when Carroll Spinney flattered her with that) - especially in the late 70's, early 80's episodes...

...but I guess it's too un-PC for him to do that now, cause I have yet to hear him say those nicknames nowadays.

How did you hear that about Sonia Manzano? Also, why would it be considered un-PC to call her "Skinny" or Gordon names to do with being bald? That's dumb to me. They have been doing it ever since the show began. What? Does it offend people to be called "Skinny". Beyond my understanding. I loved it when he did that. It was kind of endearing, even for a grouch.

I really don't understand what PCs would have to do with this. I don't think computers would affect Oscar's nicknames for people in any way.

Just a few things I want to make note of here:

Someone said that Oscar always called Gordon "Curly." What about the other two Gordons that weren't bald? Did he have nicknames for them as well.

Also, I guess Oscar couldn't have called Maria "skinny" when she was pregnant, so I guess that's why they dropped that one.

I may just be imagining things, but it seems like he used to call Telly something having to do with the fact that he's always worrying. I may be completely wrong here, though.

Well, I do remember Grungetta calling him "Worry-furry." Maybe that's what you were thinking about.
