The Smithsonian Oscar's been there at least 10 years or so; I remember seeing it on display on a trip in 1997.

If I remember right from my trip to the Smithsonian years ago, the garbage can that Oscar was in was originally used on Sesame Street, as well as the "CTW Sesame Street" lamppost sign that's featured next to him in the display.
