All I remember is an old skit where Grove and Big Bird were discussing how a baby bird comes out of an egg. Grover then says, "Wouldn't it be fun to be hatched out of an egg?" Big Bird says, "Yes, it was!"

Come to think of it, Big Bird's parentage is a bit vague. He has a "Grandma Bird" that he used to talk about, but he's taken care of by the humans on Sesame Street. His grandmother didn't even come up in "Follow That Bird".

Speaking of "Grandma Bird", I don't know if they ever showed her on the show, but Big used to talk about her a lot. She was also illustrated at the end of a book called "Big Bird's Book of Blunders". Grandma Bird had a house full of moose. She said that every year she asks Big Bird for a mouse, but every year he makes a blunder and gives her a moose.

Granny bird was probably in a few episodes... I don't know all of them, but she WAS in the last hurracne episode, after the storm, when Big was trying to bulid his nest...

(Carol Spinney perfromed her as a taped insert into a phone conversation)

Granny Bird was in another illustrated Sesame Street children's book that I remember. It was called "What Did You Bring?" and in it, Big Bird was waiting on a present sent from Granny. But it turned out that Granny Bird came to deliver the present herself. I thought it was sweet when Big Bird said that the present was nice, but the best present was a visit from Granny. It's amazing the crap I can remember.

Yeah, I remember seeing Granny Bird in quite a few books, but I don't recall ever seeing her on the show. I don't remember hearing anything about Big Bird's parents though. Maybe he doesn't know himself. Why else do you think he's called 'Big Bird' instead of having an actual name? Lol.

I would feel sorry for Big Bird's mom. Having to lay such a huge egg.

What else could you name such a large feathered guy than Big? There's also a cat named Big the Cat.

How many Episodes were there about a hurracne. I remember back then there was also some episodes of a hurracne like in the 90's. Weren't there? I just remember when they had the new episodes but I know there were some other episodes where they had some kind of storm back in the late 80's early 90's. Am I correct?

Why I was asking about Big Birds Origin is over at Tough Pig on the forms someone talks about there being a book and an audio tape of the story. Thats why I wanted to cheak about that. If some one know of any of the questions please respond.
