Also, in "Muppets From Space," my friend Ken swears you can see Dave Goelz opperating Gonzo during the studio interview with Miss Piggy. I haven't personally seen this instance, but he says you can see his entire face as Gonzo walks in front of Miss Piggy's podium.

I will soon watch the movie again and see if this is true or not. I will aslo watch the muppet treasure island movie. I am very curious to see if I can find the "goofs"

In TMM in the "Motorcycle Cop" scene when the bus is stopped, you can see monitors and peoples' legs behind Floyd. Miss Piggy's fight scene sports a black-gloved hand opperating her leg. In her love song scene when Kermit is walking with her in the foggy night a black blob follows them at the bottom of the screen. In the final scene when Dr. Teeth says: "Off the trucks and on the job!" a head and arm can be seen under him. There's also an arm in the shot of him pouring paint on the screen in "Can You Picture That". That movie's chalk full of these goodies! I love it -- it doesn't ruin the Muppets' realism, it just reassures me that the Muppets are as real as my own puppets.

Oh, and I don't believe that about seeing Dave in MFS. I've looked at that over and over and all I see is a continuation of the foil Gonzo is covered in. It seemed like an apt moment for Muppeteer showage, but they covered him up.

Is that the DVD wide screen version or the one formatted for tv?

Dave can be seen in the original shot (like in the original trailer), but when it was put in the movie, they digitally removed him, so no puppeteer is seen.

QUOTE]

I agree. Back when Jim Henson was still alive, I heard a story about a little boy meeting him when he was puppeteering Kermit. The boy's father was afraid that seeing this would ruin the "magic." When the boy was asked who Jim was he repiled "He holds Kermit up so he can see." I think its that way with any character.

Lol. I love that quote.

And how about this? Sonia Manzano (Maria) once talked about this on the "Sesame Street Unpaved" special:

A little boy was on the set of Sesame Street, and had seen Caroll Spinney take off his Big Bird costume. Moments later, he turned to his mother and asked, "Does Big Bird know there's a man inside him?"

:sing: --"Oh, can't you see? There's a bird on me!"

I love this.
I had a similar thing happen with my youngest sister and myself. We were watching MFC and she saw one of the puppeteers go to high. She asked what was the sock doing below floyd  ! I just told her how everything works. Now she has gone back to every movie and counted the goof ups. (which drove my parents crazy.)
