I love that song! Such a classic Mamas and Papas tune! Great choice! I really enjoyed Janice's line at the end "There's like a rose in Spanish Harlem" I can picture the chickens clucking along too! Great job!

The Mamas and The Papas? I know this song as being recorded by The Drifters... And a remake by Aretha Franklin they don't seem to air on the Adelphia channel...
More when I get the chance.

Yes, I hope it will to Bo... Though there's a whole span of Hensonville here... And some references to other works of fanfiction too.

Part 19...

The stage was set... The same garden backdrop hung in place in front of the stage's back wall. The telephone booth was propped up towards the far right, yet a bit more towards the center of the stage. This was Super Grover's moment to shine...
"Everyone on stage for the Supergoofs number!" Kermit yelled into the intercom.

When the red velvet curtains lifted, three costumed crimefighters were standing in front of the phonebooth in a row.
A custom-made figure of Super Link Hogthrob was there in front of the audience , Super Beaker and Super Scooter were standing next to him. Super Scooter was leafing through the book in his hands, looking for something.

Super Scooter: "OK guys... We need a good high point so we can learn to fly."
Super Link: "Does it have to be too high? Because I get a nosebleed when I stand on tippy toes."
Super Beaker: "Meep meep... Meekay."

Grover, disguised in his trenchcoat and fedora, walked up to the trio...
Grover Kent: "Um... Hello, I am your cute and furry loveable reporter, Grover Kent. Got a tip there was a superhero convention in town, and the newspaper sent..."
Super Scooter: "Hey... Do you work at the Hensonville Observer?"
GK: "No... Actually, my friend Telly's the one they send out into the field to do these reports. Sometimes my other friend Prairie Dawn gets an assignment..."
Super Link: "Then why did they send you?"
GK: "Well... They thought I needed to get back into the spotlight."
Super Beaker: "Meep meep memay... Meep, Meep?"
GK: "Come again?"

Suddenly the phone inside the booth rang, which told Grover it was time to leave...
GK: "Uh, please excuse me... I have to get the phone."
Running in the other direction, GK: "Coming!!!"

Super Link: "Hmmm... Seems like a nice fellow."
Super Scooter: "Come on guys, we gotta get back to flying practice. Now Beaker, you go up the ladder first."
Super Beaker was a bit apprehensive of climbing the open ladder, knowing full well it could collapse in on him any second if he wasn't careful.
Super Scooter: "Hey Beaker, aren't you going to put on your helmet?"
Super Beaker: "Meep... Meep meep meep meemay."
Super Scooter: "Oh... OK."

Unbeknownst to all of them, the doors of the phonebooth slid open admitting Grover inside. He was already in his superhero costume, but he didn't want the others to see him just yet... It would ruin the illusion of him actually having changed his clothes inside. Thankfully, the doors faced away from the others and Grover made his way into the cabin to a few chuckles from the audience.

SG, closing the doors and picking up the phone.: "Hello? Who am I speaking with? Oh hello Count. Yes, everything's fine... OK, see you later." When he finished, he put the receiver back on its hook and started thinking to himself out loud.
SG: "It sure has been nice staying here at Hensonville this time. Froggie baby even let me be part of this cute little show of his. Met some new friends, but I miss my home back on Sesame Street. Wonder what they're doing now."

As his thoughts drifted, soft music played from the orchestra pit below signaling another musical number about to begin.
SG: "One little star, all alone in the sky
Do you ever get lonely as the twilight drifts by?"

Hearing the soft sweet singing from within the phonebooth, the other Supergoofs joined in.
Super Scooter: "One little star, in the darkening blue
Do you long for another just the way that I do?"
Super Link: "Sky begins to fill; darkness ends the day
Someone who I love is far away."
Super Beaker meeped along, keeping the beat with his costumed comrades outside the booth.

Super Scooter: "One little star, reaching far through the night
Do you shine on my someone? Are we sharing your light?"
Super Link: "Oh, one little star, shine on us both tonight."

SG, speaking: "Gee, I wish my Super Mommy was here to sing me a lullaby,
and my friends were here, and we'd all be together.
I wonder what they're all doing tonight..."

The others gently tapped on the booth's doors, kind of trying to tell Super Grover everything was all right... His friends were here.
Super Grover opened the cabin... A sort of knowing smile on his face, as he emerged and led the others in song.
SG: "One little star."
Super Scooter, Link and Beaker harmonizing: "One little star."
SG: "Reaching far through the night."
Super Scooter, Link and Beaker: "Reaching far through the night."
SG: "Would you shine on my someone."
Super Scooter, Link and Beaker: "Shine on my someone."
SG: "So we're sharing your light?"
Super Scooter, Link and Beaker: "Please, share your light."
ALL: "Oh, one little star, shine on us all tonight."

The audience clapped, a few tears amongst the public... Glad they had a stirring performance from the furry blue monster.
Kermit, watching from the wings, nodded to himself also smiling after his friend's performance... Safe in the knowledge that his friends here in the theater would be there for him as the second act of the show came to a close.
