How could this one have gone by unnoticed?

It was on the 11th of July that Sesame Street's beloved Bob McGrath turned 71.

What would Sesame Street be without Bob? How can you describe him? Silly, funny, fun, warm, gentle, sincere... such a wide scope of adjectives because, quite simply, he always sees what a situation requires of him and gives it with such ease.

Who else knows how to give the simple thrill from a song or a story. To think of his real tears when explaining to Big Bird how happy they all can be for having the chance to know and love Mr Hooper. Or to picture the look of genuine thrill on his face when he saw that Linda and the kids were "surprising" him with sign language during his Christmas song. Or to picture his moments of love, or loathe, or frustration, or joy as he shares significant moments with kids or Muppets on the street because he is just so involved, or so darn passionate about what's going on.

We salute you, Bob, you living legend. Happy birthday
