Did anyone else see that guy's short film "Spaced Out" on the new show On The Lot? It had these cool little alien puppets that wound up puking on the officer who pulled over their flying saucer. It was awesome!

I was wondering, does anyone know who the puppeteers were for the aliens? I couldn't find out much about it.

Thanks!

That was hilarious! Great puppetry, expecially the second alien.

Obviously they gave the director experiences puppeteers. It would be cool to find out who they were.

Although when all was said and done, I had to vote for Danger Zone as being the best film. Tons of comedy in only one minute!

I saw the last 3 seconds of it, and it isn't up on the website yet. Someone on the forum made the puppets for that, but I can't remember the name because I am not super familiar with the forum members. It did get a good reactoin from the judges, so I will assume it is good and confirm that notion when I watch it on the web site.

P.S. I am not a fan of the format of the show (viewer voting). It just encourages the unwashed masses to choose another carbon copy film maker to make movies that our socioty is saturated with already. Let the judges decide! They have been around the block and I trust them.

That's very true. I've always hated these "reality" shows where the audience boos the judges, just because they are right!

Really the only way the public can effectively be the "judges" on these types of issues is if they buy the albums, pay for admission to the films, etc. The whole "voting" thing is completely inaccurate.

Great job on the puppets! I see that projectile vommiting workd out. I would have liked the short to have a little more story to it, but the puppets were definitely the best part.

The barf mechanism wasn't even attached to the puppet. That's the magic of forced perspective!

It really was a challenge building those guys from the ground up. Patterning is not exactly easy, you know? But the process I've been working out seems to have proven itself. I'm considering writing a book!

I'd like to hear about your ground up pattern making. Add a special effects version in that book with projectile vommit! You can figure a way to do it live with no cuts? I'm sure it will go over great at kid's shows. If you don't get that book deal, I'm sure a blog would work fine for now.
