Having received a long-awaited copy of the special from E-bay the other night, I noticed while watching it again for the first time in 15 years that Richard Hunt is credited for Muppeteering during the opening, yet none of his regular characters appear in the special as far as I could see. Would anyone know why they'd have it this way? (or was he possibly backing up, so to speak, Jerry Nelson inside Snuffleupagus; anyone know if he ever did this?)?

He may have just been doing "right hand" work for Oscar, Ernie, Count or Cookie Monster. It is also possible he helped with Snuffy as you said.

Speaking of the CEOSS credits... Does it say who performed the SS kid named Patty in the special?
If so, what was that actress's name?

Thanks.

I wonder if Patti was a regular or just a one-shot character in the special. The credits just listed Debbie Chen alongside "The Cast of Sesame Street", as if she was a regular. Sure, she may not have been famous enought o justify getting a "Guets Starring" credit, but there could have been a credit saying "The Kids featuring Debbie Chen as Patti with...". Or, considering that Caroll Spinney got credited alongside "The Cast of Sesame Street" instead of "Jim Henson's Muppets", Debbie Chen's credit could have been similar to Caroll Spinney's credit. Meaning, after all the human cast members were listed, the credit could have ended with it saying "with Debbie Chen as Patti and Caroll Spinney as Big Bir and Oscar the Grouch".

Back to the original topic, could people imagine listening to an audio commentary for this special, and during the opening credits, someone could say "Richard Hunt's credit here has caused confusion among fans for many years, since he didn't have any of his own characters in the special".

I believe Richard Hunt was actually the assistant to Ernie.
