Here's what saddens me: the fact that we're all in the same fan community for the simple reason that we all love the same things. I don't see any necessity where any of us has a specific right to blow up on one another, to belittle one another, to call each other out, to snap at one another, or flame! When you have a common interest how on earth can you dare argue with someone?

First of all, there are moderators here. I'm here Monday through Friday, you all know that. If you have problems with someone, send me an email, link me to the particular posts of concern, and I'll follow through. My e-mail is available, my private messaging is turned on...there is NO NEED in calling each other out on these forums. It wastes space and causes more problems than it helps.

Secondly, I don't care how passionate you are about a topic. If you don't like it, move along. I've tried discussions before in some of the threads (for example, should the Muppets retire) and I totally disagree with whomever it was that started the thread, I made my point and moved on, but then I left it with that. Nothing wherein the tonality of my posts would produce negative responses or attitudes. Know why? Because I consider everyone on these boards a part of my extended family. I would HOPE everyone else here would, too, and would consider their tone in their responses and their typing.

Thirdly, I have seen where said attitude has been projected and unwarranted recently in a thread where someone is asking for advice and finding a way to get some of the stress off their shoulders. There was no need in even making a post there if all that was going to be posted was something negative.

Basically, we go back to the same rule we learned in preschool (say it with me!)
"If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

Now, that being said:
-Stop calling each other out on these forums. Use the moderators, that's what we're here for. If you have a problem with someone on these forums, let your mod's know.
-Think before you post: Are you really speaking your mind, or are you just posting something flame-worthy because you can? Be polite and courteous to your FELLOW FORUM MEMBERS!!! We're all part of the same community and family.

I motion to have this thread locked. Anybody second that? It does nothing for our community, and it certainly does not promote Jim Henson's message at all.

I second it Fozzie Bear. This thread can do nothing more than throw gasoline on the fire. I really don't see any good coming from it.

yes it should be locked. like I said in my previous post i'll try to avoid getting annoyed at every little thing like the thread drifts, at least not every minor 1. but I'm not going to be silent if someones getting out of hand though I'll always try to follow Fozzie's suggestion of reporting problems to the moderator. I'm sure I'm not the only 1 who's sinned here.

Ok, settled. I've held my tongue on many occasions and I don't think it has gotten bad enough to wear I would have to say something disrespectful. Ok, if I have problems with anyone on this board I will PM Fozzie.

Now I'm movin along..

well maybe some things i'm off about. maybe 1 of a few post drifts are nothing big but if it's constant I'm going to make my voice heard especially this garbage of E&B being gay. if they are the SS workshop would say something about it. and that 1 post here witch some posts drifted into being gay and other things about the topic are inappropriete in this section let alone the thread itself and each time that happenes I'm going to complain about it whether anyone here likes it or not. or unless I'm told by the moderators not to. don't know why they allow you to go so off topic with that post talking about gay issues. and 1 to even think E&B are gay are stupid. this section is to talk about Classic SS not such a topic.
for the most part I agree with you, I remember when I was talking about the interview with Eric Jacobson, I made that comment about E&B, but that was only because in the interview Eric (as Bert) finally cleared up the issue, and I totally agree with Fozzie Bear :embarrassed:
