No more CDs?

I just think that they would go with whats cheapest and that's most likely MP3 files and downloading. Whatever costs the the least amount to make. There seems to be littler manufacturing costs there and digital is arguably of the best and affordable quality right now.

Can someone answer me this question? I bought Ozzy's new CD, Black Rain, a few weeks ago and I noticed it had requirements for a computer on thwe back of it. As far as I can see it has no special things on it that would need X amount of RAM, Internet explorer5/firefox2/windows XP/Vista to play, and my computer played it just fine. Why would it have computer requirements?

This has been bugging me (If it helps, I have the tour edition with the bonus cd with 6 extra tracks). I checked all my other cds and none of them had anything like it on it.

the only thing I can think of is if you were to rip the cd to your computer. But why would you need a certain verion of internet explorer to do it?

Maybe just to mess with you? I have the Freaky Friday soundtrack (the updated, updated version with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis), and the back of the case says "Please place this CD in your CD-ROM drive on you computer to access special features" but it HAD no special features!

My friend was saying that she heard that by the end of this year, all the cd companies will be out of buisness because everyone is downloading things and not buying cds. I dont want this to happen! I love cds. As a matter of fact, I HATE MP3 players. HATE HATE HATE HATE MP3 players. Gimme a cd player and I'll be happy. Anyway, is this true?

Why do you hate them so much? I prefer all my music in one place rather than having to carry around a bunch of Cds and a bulky Cd player.

for one thing, its a pain to download song onto them. 10 songs take about...20 minutes on my computer. Another thing is when you have alot of songs on it and want to look for a specific song, you need to search through every single song until you find it.

I remember how against the idea of CDs and DVDs I was back in the day . I still have a big VHS collection and some of my favorite music on tapes. A few months ago I got really lonely for the good ol' days and thought about getting an old 80's walkman . I still keep my daddys' record collection safe for my future baby when they grow up :3

Hey, if people can still sell Vynal records (though it seems they're ultraindie bands trying to be snotty elitists), then CD's won't be gone for some time.

Cassette Tapes, however (and I hate cassette tapes)....

I hate to rely on VHS tapes for my viewing pleasure , but it is quite handy when you've got a Muppet appearance on the Today Show and you want to tape it quickly before you miss it and VHS is the only blank form of recordable media on your shelf (I don't believe in TiVO) and they're talking and going on and you're missing all of it, and little tidbits like that. But then, quickly after I've taped the section I was wanting, I bring my tapes up to my lab and convert them into .AVI files on computer using my CameraMate RCA converter, thereupon BURNING THOSE WORTHLESS CHUNKS OF PLASTIC INTO A BUBBLING PUDDLE!

Nah. No I don't.

As for CDs, I use them a lot more often than I use audio tapes (*shudders*) and a lot LESS frequently than I use my iPod & iTunes on my computer. Digital all the way! But still, CDs are good in the car, whilst on the road.
