It was a special version of the theme that played at the end of episodes that ended at night. It's very pretty, and I would love a clean copy of it. I have an MP3 file of it from show 2900, but it cuts off 5 seconds early. It's also on 666, but it has talking over it. Does anyone know where I can get a clean copy of this version? What do you think this nighttime version is called anyway?

I know the song you're talking about. I think it was played on a xylophone. I don't know where you can find just the song, but they do play it at the end of the video "Bedtime Stories and Songs". I don't know if that helps at all.

You won't find that video under that title anymore...they changed it to something else..I forget what the new title is, I think it starts with "Sleepytime" (I have no idea why they changed it-I grew up with the original version, and it's always been a favorite...beats me why they're messing with a classic)

ssetta, did SS episdoe 2900 have the closing credits? Also, could I have the mp3 version of that song that you have from that episode?

That video is now called "Sleepytime Stories and Songs." I grew up with it as a kid and enjoyed seeing the characters in it. "If Moon Was Cookie" was such a nice, calm-sounding song. If only I could find the year it debuted. I am guessing it is from between 1978 and 1986 since it looks like it's from that period.

Anyways, the "Nighttime" version of the theme was once used with the infamous "Barkley and the Kids" end credits. I thought it was pretty darn funny that way... they really need to bring back that "Nighttime" credits theme, along with the original 1969 Harmonica version of the ending theme for use with the closing credits on new episodes. That 1992 credits sequence seems pretty outdated by now, especially the way they hacked it all up.

I am almost certain it was 1981.

ssetta, I have a few questions about the endings of SS episode 2123 and 2124, which. You know how at the end of each episode after the sponsors were announced, a Sesame Street sign would fold outward onto the screen, then the words CHILDREN'S TELEVISION WORKSHOP would slide in underneath the sign(from 1984-95)?

On a picture of the closing for 2123 on muppet wikia, the actual Sesame Street sign on the lamppost was shown while Oscar announces the sponsors. So I'm guessing that just the words CHILDREN'S TELEVISION WORKSHOP appeared on screen after this episode's sponsors were announced. Am I right about that? Also, whenever the SS sign on the lamppost was shown on screen at the end of episodes from 1984-95, would the CTW words still slide onto the screen like they would after the folding SS sign appeared on the screen?

My questions about 2124's ending are as follows:
First of all, who announces the sponsors and CTW notice at the end?
Second, what is Oscar doing as the sponsors/CTW notice are announced. It looks like Oscar's trash can is about to close completely on the picture on Muppet Wiki that has the SS sign and CTW logo on it.

I think you are right about how if the real sign was shown at the end of an episode, only the words Children's Television Workshop appeared. I don't remember who announced the sponsors at the end of 2124, but Oscar I think was trying to wake up Miles, and I think he just went back down into his trash can.

Actually, that post is EXTREMELY old. Just look at the date. It was posted 3 1/2 years ago. I no longer have that mp3 file. Someone sent it to me a long time ago, and they say they no longer have it. However, I do have a copy of that episode. I just wish it wasn't missing the last 5 seconds.
