I was watching 'The Muppets' on Blu-Ray and when The Newsman states that his phone is dead, he seems to close his eyes. So, does he have an eyelid mechanism? If so, has he always had it? Thanks.

I'm not sure if he's always had a mechanism to close his eyes, but he definitely does in the Muppets. I noticed that too. I recall him squinting his eyes some on the Muppet Show, but to me, that always looked more like an effect caused by squishing his head in a little than an actual eye mechanism.

YES he can now blink -- and no, he didn't used to have that ability! On TMS Jim would wrinkle his brow to make him do his trademark scowl. I was delighted to see the blink in the movie, and moreso when I found out he was rebuilt to do exactly that! :news:
