I love the idea, and I'm just happy Ernie and Bert are coming back into the spotlight.

I still don't quite know what to think of this.

I'm trying to understand the context of the brief Brady Bunch reference.

This being an SST special, you know there has to be a Pickle Fairy involved somehow.

On the other hand, this sounds like the premise for a Don Music sketch.
:sing: When you wish upon a pickle, makes no difference who you... Who you... Er, tickle?

Please don't comb Elmo's hair down; I know Kevin started that, but still.

    And the infomercial ending.

Oh, it does! But this whole special seems bizarre, like they randomly generated a plot on some story making bot, or Mad Libs or something.

EDIT: Also, this will mark the first time we see Peter Linz's Ernie on the show!

Ya know I wouldn't really worry too much about the plot of this. I think this is a quick little special to get the characters out there and have some fun. It's not just an Elmo and Abby show, and we get to have characters like Oscar, The Count, Ernie and Bert have some screen time. It will also help the newer performers get a feel for their new roles.

I'm starting to see a trend with HBO. So far, each HBO season has included a special - Once Upon a Sesame Street Christmas in 2016, The Great Wand Chase in 2017, and now When You Wish Upon a Pickle in 2018 - and it's known that a 50th anniversary special will air next year.

I've also noticed this and The Great Wand Chase air a week before their respective seasons (can't remember if that was the case with the Christmas special, though I'm feeling that season began after the year ended so probably), it's as if seasons are beginning with new specials (wouldn't be surprised if that's what will be done with the 50th anniversary special).
