I just finished up a new puppet using the Project Puppet Rotondo head and Fleece pattern. Wow! I like this even better than the bare foam.

Her name is Midgy Gibbons. She's a widow three times over. She just seems to outlast her husbands. She has a large collection of ticket stubs from various Vegas stage shows, including Tom Jones ("What a hottie!") and that new "Circus Du Slowly" thing. Midgy also likes to sew. In fact, she made the coat she is wearing from an old frog puppet.

I made one change to the foam head pattern, pinching seams 1 and 2 from the inside and gluing them to flatten out the upper lip. I used regular fleece (bought in the Fabric District in downtown Los Angeles where you can find anything you might need) because I figured I might screw up on my first try and didn't want to screw up on the good Antron Fleece. I used cotton batting to puff out the cheeks a bit. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the way it all turned out. The instructions were fairly easy to follow, though I probably should have printed them out and then combined the two instruction (foam head and fleece).

p.s. Sorry about the link being so unwieldy.

Great character Mgov! She's up in the gallery!

I love her coat. Her outfit is perfect for the character.

Geez! Her expression is really silly! She's like "Oh, Hi There! I didn't notice you there! How are you doing?" lol
