I don't know if anyone has heard about this, but you have to check this out....

http://www.stringsthemovie.com/

I saw the trailer for it this weekend at the Puppeteers of America festival in CT and it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. More beatiful than Dark Crystal, LOTR, and NMBC combined! Right now it only has a distributor for Europe and canada but I'm really praying it comes to the US! it's amazing! It's like nothing else I've seen before. So spread the word to anyone and everyone you know about this.

Supposedly there is a trailer for it online but I haven't found it yet. If I do i'll post it here. but definitly check out the site.

Couldn't find the trailer either. I'm very curious aswell. Didn't that puppeteer, Peter Baird, who just passed away work on this movie too?

Yes, Peter Baird (son of bil) had worked on it and this was his last production. I'll have to contact some friends and see if they know anything about thetrailer being online. I'm REALLY hoping they can find a distibutor for it in the US. If not, I'm on my way to Canada!

Looks good. It would be great if the film was available in Australia too but I won't hold my breath on that.

Its nice that Peter Baird was involved with a film just before he died, sortof a last chance to do something like that.

To be absolutely honest... I don't think I really like it. Comparing this movie to the Dark Crystal is just wrong. Not to mention LOTR wich has nothing to do with this sort of movie. It's a marionette movie. Personally I hate looking at all those wires all the time. Especially because they are so thick. Hey it's just my personal opinion but I don't think this looks good enough. I would never use marionettes on film. The Dark Crystal is largely made without the use of strings. That's exactly what I love about it. These marionettes don't even move their mouth while they do move their eyes. What's up with that anyway? Why go for one thing while skipping the other?

Well the movie isn't called 'Strings' for nothing I guess.
heh
:stick_out_tongue:

I'll just shut up.

Even NEWER puppet movie.....

Hey, it just might work. Ya never now. And the more dramatic concept sounds cool. But America has beaten it to the punch, because the USA will have a new marionette movie released this October, by the creators of SOUTH PARK. I was a puppeteer for this film.
PS: This film IS NOT for kids. Here's the link> http://www.teamamericamovie.com/

On behalf of Canada, let me say that we welcome you and - most importantly - your tourism dollars.

Who has the distribution rights up here? If someone knows I can probably get a little more information about this film.

I like it...It looks very artsey and I think the strings add to it...and when this comes out I would definetly go to Canada to get it.....or just use the Canadian Amazon site.....to save on gas.
