Hi David/Robin.

Trust me, Zig and Zag were definitely on Channel 4's Big Breakfast, if they were on ITV then it would have been as guests, rather than as presenters.

And there were three leprechauns, Mr Sage, Mr Onion and Shamrock, and they were on BBC, not ITV, usually on Live and Kicking, although they also guested on various other shows (The Generation Game, French and Saunders etc). They were made by Darryl Worbey Studios. They were not replacements for Zig and Zag, but followed on in the BBC's theme of children's television puppet presenters (Edd the Duck and Gordon the Gopher filled the same slots).
