Clips of it are available for viewing on the Cartoon Network site.

And all indications from seeing them?

Did anyone even bother to watch the dang cartoon? Did anyone bother watching the old series? because it looks like they just grabbed a random old series and pasted new characters and situations in an old franchise. And I thought it was only the movies.

George seems more like a nervous idiot than the big dumb funny airhead he used to be. And in all honesty, is that him talking normally? "we made Eggnog"? NO! George make egg nog.

I hope this series bombs big time. So much for bringing back Jay Ward productions. This is even worse than the Dudley Do-Right movie.

Agreed... thoug you kinda made him sound like a TV Indian.

I really was looking forward to it until I saw that first preview. now that they took away what made George Special, they took away the show. it isn't even loosely based back off the movie (which is what the last Inspector gagdet series and movies seemed to do).

I would have enjoyed it if they remade the series as Jay and Co originally visualised it. George being a spoiled idiot from Britian who was forcably sent to Africa, instead of being abandoned there.

Too bad. There would have been so much potential. Plsu the new character designs look an awful lot like everything else.

And Curse them for not getting Keith Scott and June Foray.

And what may I ask is the demographic of this show? The kids don't care. The people who grew up watching reruns will feel alienated. No one wins. Way to keep following the same cycle of failure...

But 'tis the same with must programing now when franchises are ruined. 'Tis sad, really.

I hope everyone just drops dead too! Oh how harsh is that. Well i think until watch the whole thing other then watching a part. But seeing they are coming out with the seires on DVD (older series) then buy that and don't worry 'bout the newer one. I don't put down stuff because it's doesn't look or hear like the older series. I watched the older seires when they re-ran it on Cartoon Network back in the 90's early '00.

But seems everyone here is just putting down everything just because of what it looks like or what the characters sound like. I just doens't make since to me. I'm a fan of older stuff but i don't put down the newer stuff just because it's not how i remembered it.

If it's not something i don't like i try and not put it down. Look at that "Clue For Scooby Doo" show that's not like anything like the "What's New Scooby Doo?" show but i don't say oh i hope it fails or it's gonna suck. I just move on and either don't watch it or maybe everyonce in a full moon i might just watch it.

You mean that "Shaggy and Scooby Doo get a Clue" series? I will say I have my problems with that too. But at least they kept the intergity of the characters more or less. Not to mention there is a market for kids to have a new Scooby Doo show. I mean, it was only a couple years since we had a Scooby series. Not to mention the fact that this is only the 4th time Scooby deviated from it's original series. And even in his hey day, we had stuff unrelated to that show like Scooby's Laff-olympics, the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo, Scrappy Doo's second season....

But this show really looks like everything else I dislike about animation these days. Cartoon Network will never get another Powerpuff Girls, and it doesn't even care.

But I will say, who is the target audience of the show? The kids who saw the movie are too old to care about a new series. The youngsters won't be too interrested, and the fans of the show were alienated. I even ask, did they even get permission from Jay Ward's estate?

I agree that putting it down like this is harsh, but in all honesty, I'm getting sick and tired of these kinds of relaunches that are nothing like the original idea. The only relaunch I though was successful was TMNT (and that's because the original cartoon series was pretty different from the original idea- but in a good way).

I'm sick of seeing this artificial frantic humor. It works for Spongebob and Fairly Oddparents, but Ward cartoons were frantic in another way completely. I wouldn't mind a change, but they've successfully changed an original idea into everything else there is.

Indeed. Seeing a beloved icon rearranged constantly doesn't do any demographic any good.

Scrappy Doo's second season
How about Scrappy in general, considering most fans tend to dislike the little runt?
