Neil Patrick Harris' hero is Jim Henson

In the newest issue of TV Guide, there is an interview with Neil patrick harris (Doogie Houser, M.D., How I Met Your Mother). One of the questions is who his all-time TV hero is, and he said that his hero is Jim Henson. This interview also features a picture of grover.

Here is a quote from him in TV Guide: (in response to the question, "Who is your all-time TV hero?") "Jim Henson. He taught me how to be funny and how to share and communicate, and he did it all with felt and cut-up ping pong balls. Between the Fraggles, the Muppets, and Sesame Street, he entertained and educated an entire generation. I hope to do a childrens show like that someday."

Hmm, maybe he should be a guest on Sesame Street, or perhaps he should appear in a future Muppet special or movie. It's a little bit interesting that he mentioned Fraggles first, though.

That's really cool, I didn't know he was a fan. I guess it figures, he and I are pretty close in age, so he woulda grown up with them like lots of us did.

Hopefully more celebrity Jim fans will step up and contribute to some good entertainment with the Muppets.

When I think A-list, I'm thinking Crowe, Cruise, Kidman, Zellweger, Depp, Julia Roberts, Carrey, Myers, Sandler- the people whose names automatically draw crowds at movie theaters, the biggies. All of those aforementioned folks were born before 1970. Still, I don't doubt that among that group, we must have some Muppet fans- Roberts and Carrey were on "Sesame Street", after all. It makes one wonder, then, why the Muppets can't attract the major talent that they did back in the day- mostly they're getting repeat biz from Whoopi, David Arquette, and Jeffrey Tambor- not exactly white-hot at the moment.

Who are some celebs who are big right now who've been on "Sesame Street" in the last several years? Admittedly a lot of people were on SS who probably could've been on TMS and weren't, but it'd be interesting to get a bead on who the Muppets 'might' work with should they launch a new weekly show.

Wow, that's pretty cool. I'm so embarassed to admit this, but I had the worst crush on him back in the day! I was obsessed with Doogie Howser M.D. when I was about 9 years old. Now I have the first two seasons on DVD and I just sit back and laugh at how young he was, especially now that I'm in to How I Met Your Mother. Pretty funny.

How about 1970-1990..I grew up on the muppets..Sesame Street being the first followed by Fraggle Rock but I came in right at 1990 at least that is my earliest memory of Fraggle Rock, then followed by Eureka's castle..so yeah that would push the age back to 20.

I Kinda feel the same way. Jim was my inspiration to get into the field of Puppetry.
