(Need Some) Fabric Direction

I know that most agree that stretch on a puppet head goes front to back, not side to side.

I also know that according to the Foam Book, the stretch in the neck needs to run side to side, not up and down.

My question is won't the puppet look funny with the material running one way on the head and another on the neck/body? Or am I just worring about nothing?

What do you all do?

seems like the same to me,

basicly you want the stretch to run around the circumfrence of the head, not up and down on it

as for the fabric looking odd, it depends on what you are using, but generally no,

the basic idea is to prevent the fabric from sagging as the puppet gets used more and more

I have learned that polar fleece stretches really well, and puppet necks tend to grow longer with usage!

That explains why my puppet seems to get longer each time I use her. I'll have to fix that someday.

Well that would explain a few things, I think the padding inside mine is just starting to sag.
