Need help with mechanics (3 rods puppets operated by 1 puppeteer)

I need help with the mechanics of multiple rod puppets on a hand-held platform, manipulated by one puppeteer. The rod puppets are to swivel (right to left and back again) and arms move up/down as if they are dancing in unison. I searched the book "Figures in the Fourth Dimension" and was not able to find anything that was helpful. The book is beyond the simple mechanics that I need. And after looking at all of the complexities in the book, I'm more confused than ever. I'm sure it is much simpler than my brain is trying to make it out to be. Any suggestions or a link to a how-to video would be helpful and very much appreciated. Thank you!
