With regards to Volume 4 Super Grover:

The reveal at the annual American International Toy Far was on Valentine's Day, February 14 2026.
The figure went up as part of Target's 2026 Haulathon exclusives on March 27 2026.
So that's about a month in terms of turn around from reveal to release.
It's possible that the Volume 6 "could" be revealed as part of the 2026 Fall Geek Out and then released for sale at this year's NYCC, or it "could" be revealed at the con in October and then released in November/December.

As far as Cookie Monster, he could be switched up for earlier release with any of the figures revealed through the 2025 conventions. But again, I got the sense that Trevor wanted to get everything revealed in 2025 released first before moving foward to any new figures. Who knows, maybe Cookie Monster will be the Volume 6 reveal which could slot in with the alternating blue character releases perfectly. :search:
I don't think it's Cookie cause he kinda openly talked about him being worked on as if he'd be coming after Herry.

NECA usually have a major property for Geekouts and Haulathons. With TMNT gone from the equation, I think Sesame will have to have something for the fall geekout. They could do the reveal online.

It could be a variant of an existing character. Maybe a Blue Big Big, maybe it is something we have already been shown like Frazzle or Sherlock or the 2 pack of Mr. Johnson and Grover. There have been enough reveals that would allow for a Geekout figure. Probably not The Muppet Show, though.
TVComedies
Yeah, I'm not discounting a variant, even though it feels too early for that. Trevor first referred to the figure as a "version".

I'd expect a different lineup since Trevor said he wanted to break the blue characters away from immediately after each other. The way I think such a plan would be doable would be:

Volume 6, whichever figure it ends up being.
Volume 7: Oscar The Grouch, green character.
Herry Monster, blue character.
Sherlock Hemlock, green character with brown plaid coat, still no news on Watson.
Grover & Mr. Johnson 2-pack, both blue characters.
Frazzle, red-orange character.
Then, if the line's still going, Cookie Monster, blue character.

Course, they could add Guy Smiley and/or the Two-Headed Monster to have further separation. The great thing is I'm already scheming the display of all these figures in my mindspace. :fanatic:
And they can have even more seperation if they realize that basically all pre-2010 viewers of Sesame Street count as "adult collectors" at this point...

It's said that the pre-orders will go up on NECA's webstore starting this Thursday 9/24/2026. Subtle nod to Jim there. And the only way I can justify ordering Volume 6 is by calling him Pino (Big Bird's Dutch cousin) instead. So now I gotta imagine my Sesame figures shelf with two Big Bird's integrated into the display and decide if I'm really purchasing Volume 6.

This is what I've been looking forward too. Seems they couldn't brand it as follow that Bird which is probably what held up the reveal.

For a con exclusive it makes perfect sense. They probably produced these when they did the regular version.

I do wonder, will he have his frilly collar? No sign of it yet. If not, luckily I have one from another figure that might work.

Could they have snuck in a Pino head from the Dutch production? Seems to be the right shade of blue. Could we see some of Big Birds international relatives?

Either way, this is a perfect con exclusive. Sadly, more than a few people on social media are calling it a lazy cash grab.

I'm not crazy about it. If it's just Big Bird's season 1 head but blue that will be telling; alternate head should be a sad head. Kind of seems like a pointless figure if they weren't able to fully go in on Follow That Bird.

Is it an odd choice? Yes.
But, repaints are part of every toyline.
And I love Follow That Bird.
Most importantly, I do not want to have a gap in the numbering when the collection is complete!
Just hope "limited quantity" doesn't mean it sells out before I get one.

It could be a variant of an existing character. Maybe a Blue Big Big, ...
Well done!

Hey guys, I understand that this was pretty much the easiest variant NECA could have produced to be labelled as Volume 6 and released in the window before :grouchy:, just paint the regular Volume 5 Big Bird blue. Instant repaint!

What I'm asking here is, how hard would it have been to take that regular Volume 5 Big Bird and turn it into a figure of Miss Finch instead?
