I'll be shocked if he doesn't release this month. I heard shipping labels are already being created.

A couple hours after I posted whining about Big Bird not arriving yet, I received an email notification from NECA that the figure is shipping! I assume that means they'll have him for sale at SDCC, and potentially the next figure will go up for pre-order around the show.

Yes, even I agree the line releases have gotten slowed down, but at least we're getting as many figures this one year alone as we've gotten so far.
Volume 1 Ernie, December 2024.
Volume 2 Bert, January 2025.
Volume 3 The Count von Count, March 2025 as 2025 Target Haulathon.
And in 2026 we've gotten Volume 4 Super Grover, and Volume 5 Big Bird and Oscar The Grouch if he's to be next as Volume 6, with the potential of Herry and maybe Sherlock Hemlock by the end of the year.

As for SDCC, now that it's three weeks away... My hope is that Big Bird does get released before the convention, that way they'll have latest release product in hand to show/sell there directly. My thoughts are, and there's no hard evidence this will be the news we get, is a showing of final sculpt for :grouchy: and in-progress sculpts of the other figures we know of for the Sesame Street line. Plus if they say :grouchy: is Volume 6, it makes sense to me he'd be released in September so they again have latest released product in hand to show/sell at the NYCC in October.

I'm pretty sure NECA can't help themselves and we're basically guaranteed a new Muppet/Sesame character at every convention now, even though they're so far behind. I think this was even stated in TOYCOLLECTR.

Well, let's see if that theory holds true with some speculative planning.

*Note: None of the following is any official release surities.
Big Bird: 2026 San Diego ComicCon.
Oscar The Grouch: 2026 New York ComicCon.
Herry Monster: 2027 American/New York Toy Fair.
Grover Monster/Mr. Johnson 2-Pack: 2027 Target Haulathon.
Frazzle Monster: 2027 San Diego ComicCon.
Sherlock Hemlock: 2027 New York ComicCon.
*Note 2: I'm going by the order in which characters were revealed, you could mix it up and still get the same six spots filled, unless there are major conventions I don't know about which is highly probable. Plus whatever else gets announced/revealed as new additions in 2026's conventions to be released in 2028. Meh, I think the FB post posted in this thread earlier is more probable, but all we can do is wait for official word from NECA, good thing I trust them in spite of the slowed releases.

Kevin_muley shared lots of photos of the Big Bird figure. I think the figure looks great. I was worried about the scale, but it seems pretty good. I think it could have been slightly taller and wider, but I am very happy with how it looks. Hopefully, mine arrives sometime soon.

Is that our old forum moderator Fozzie Bear? Glad he's still around. Hoping my figure's status gets updated and shipped out soon as well. :sigh:

I got mine today and it really is a great figure. The size feels right. The cuts in the torso allow you to bend the neck in multiple places and give the figure that crooked neck look the puppet has. If you dont already have this figure on order, you're going to want to get one ASAP.
