I'll bet Sweetums goes up to about the top of Big Bird's neck.

I will say a point toward Cookie seems to be in the interview, it was suggested there's some mandate from Sesame that they want the "main characters" to be out before an accessory pack, and for the main characters to get at least a piece in said pack. I would assume when the groundwork was laid that Big Bird, Ernie, Bert, Cookie, and Oscar (and maybe Grover and Count) were considered the main characters. I would also assume (based on the interview) this is how Herry somehow is now "indefinitely delayed", after I believe at some point he was supposed to be the next figure coming out.

Its funny that Elmo is still seen as "new" when the show is 55 years old and he's been on the show for 40 of those 55 years. Thats like saying Bean Bunny is a new character for The Muppets. But yeah, there are still people who just HATE Elmo for some reason.

I think there are enough people who grew up on Elmo to mitigate the negative response. Where Elmon was once a 90s trend, he is now 90s nostalgia.
Elmo is emblematic of an era of Sesame that was much more childish and lost the duality of appealing to adults as much as kids. Elmo's World was literally designed as an effort to lower the age demographic to 3. I don't really get how this equates to him being a good pick for adult figure collector lines, unless they tried really hard to give him a sculpt and accessories toward his earliest appearances or something.

Plus, like come on. We need more Elmo merch when so many classic characters barely have anything? And then on top of this, add to the fact the absurdly slow rollout of this line.

Er... Based on the information at Muppet Wiki and posted in this thread, I thought the release order (if mirroring the announcement order) was:

2026 Toy Fare (February/March 2025):
Big Bird.
Herry Monster.
Oscar The Grouch.
2025 San Diego Comic Con International (July):
Grover and Mr. Johnson 2-pack.
2025 New York Comic Con (October):
Frazzle Monster.
Sherlock Hemlock.

And now add to that the mystery figure we hope gets announced at next year's Toy Fair that's said to be released after Big Bird... All I know is I have enough to be excited for to hopefully purchase throughout the year, then speculate about what additions get announced for 2027.

Release order will not match the reveal order. All we know right now is that Big Bird is next for 2026 Q1 or Q2. Then a TBA figure and Oscar will be later in 2026, maybe Q3. Nothing else was nailed down as far as release order. Frazzle was apparently revealed by mistake and it doesn't have a firm slot yet, maybe not even in 2026.

Eh, I get that and will just buy them when they get released. But I believe that anytimepally reported that at the New York Comic Con the NECA people said Big Bird, Herry, and Oscar were planned for 2026 Q2; whereas Frazzle and Sherlock for 2026 Q3. Then again, I also understand that release dates can get pushed back so I'm just gonna get Bert and The Count and then purchase the others as they get released through the year.

Based on comments from Trevor in the recent interview, my guess is that Big Bird, the unknown character, Oscar, and the Grover and Mr. Johnson two-pack will be the only NECA Sesame Street figures that will come out next year. I'd be happy if they release 5 or 6 new figures every year for the next few years. I just hope interest in the line stays high enough at that rate, especially as the characters become increasingly obscure.

I'm guessing some of the reshuffling of release order is to prioritize the more popular characters to account for a shrinking market. Assuming the unannounced character is either Cookie Monster or Elmo, that leaves only one or two of the most popular 'classic' characters left. Since the increased cost of production and shipping has caused prices to rise (plus corporate greed), and consumers increasingly have less money for frivolities, I could see this line really struggling past 2026. Hopefully, things improve and the line does well for a long time. I'd love it to go as deep into these characters as the Palisades line did with the Muppets.

The most previous namecards at Comic Con had Big Bird, Oscar, and Herry for Q2 2026, and Sherlock for Q3 (which seems basically impossible now). Frazzle didn't have a namecard as he was initially in Herry's spot.

Honestly it's a little unprofessional and weird to me how those namecards mean nothing and the release schedule keeps drastically changing.

All good points. I wish there was some way these figures were slightly smaller and didn't have all the extra heads and hands to cut costs, and then maybe more could be made quicker like Palisades did.

It is funny we're having a sort of Palisades repeat moment where they presumably need to reshuffle the Sesame line to get core characters out first.
