As was reported earlier in this very thread, the next figures won't be released until the second quarter of 2026 which according to NECA's calendar would be anywhere from April 1 to June 30. Those figures would be Big Bird, then Oscar The Grouch, then Herry Monster; or I could be wrong and they could scramble the lineup however they wish to do so. We should probably get an update in a couple months time during late February or early March whenever the 2026 American International Toy Fair takes place. Hope this helps.
Thanks! I missed that info. If the next figure(s) are supposed to release in Q2 2026, I'm guessing they'll go up for pre-order soonish. Or is Q2 when they'll go up for pre-order? I'll scroll back in the thread to check the original post. There's a long list of characters I want NECA to make, and I want to see the line keep momentum to chug along for a long time.

Trevor, from NECA, was interviewed by Veebs recently, and he gave some updates on the Sesame Street line. They start talking Sesame Street at 1hr 35min into the below video. Apparently, Big Bird is next and due out early 2026. Next will be a figure that hasn't been shown yet. I wonder if it's Cookie Monster to give them another popular character to raise interest in the line.

The thing is, they had interest in the line when Bert and Ernie came out. They were all over toy photography sites and videos. I feel like NECA dropped the ball by not having more figures ready to go.

Also, it was said that Oscar isnt coming with the elephant accessory and Sherlock Hemlock may not come with Watson due to costs.

Just finished listening to the whole podcast episode. My thoughts? I'm excited to start adding these figures to my overall collection with :frown: and :batty: next year, followed by :wisdom: in early 2026.
As for the TBA figure following Big Bird... I would guess it could be Cookie Monster since that's the one figure from the Toony Classics line still missing from the Ultimate line. Plus, it makes sense since we're getting Grover, Herry, and Frazzle through the year to have everybody needed for :Fuzzy & Blue (And Orange)". On the other hand, I'd really want to ask them what the plans are regarding the NECA letters. Remembering one of the first talking points concerning this line was that the company wanted to make letter figure pack-ins to spell out their own company name. We've gotten the letters C with Ernie and A with Bert, it was mentioned that Mr. Johnson would have an N. That leaves only the E, and another talking point from those early days last year was that it would be the blue female E from the Letter of the Day Pageant sketch... Which led to speculation to her being paired up with a release of Guy Smiley. So I'd want to ask if those are still the plans, then that could be another viable option for this mystery "Volume 5" release.

As far as the rest of the line we know of so far... It was confirmed that :grouchy: will come with the letter T, as well as Slimey the Worm and other accessories. Unfortunately, the Pachyderm Four represented by the four elephant trunks are potentially not being included here, but maybe and I stress "maybe" in an accessory pack.
Frazzle Monster with an orange U with eyebrows? Oh, that's the U from the sketch accompanying the Sesame Street version of the song "When I'm Calling U".
Sherlock Hemlock with Watson and letter X. Watson might also get cut if the costs for producing Sherlock's coat end up being higher than expected. And a hot pink X? Is that the X from the sketch for the song "How I Miss My X" sung by Patty LaBelle?
Grover and Mr. Johnson still planned as a 2-pack. Grover will have bendie arms, a towel for his waitering role, and a banjo for when he's working at the park; Mr. Johnson will have a tray and bowl of alphabet soup to recreate one of the iconic sketches at Charlie's. No mention of which letters will be packed but we got word earlier this year of a G fro :super: and an N for Mr. Johnson as stated above.
Herry Monster, still no word on which letter he'll come with. The fact no mention has been made makes me wonder if we'll get a letter (in my mind should be H) or a swerve and have him packed with a number instead.

Looking forward to kicking off this collection and what gets announced at Toy Fair in a couple months. :fanatic:

Edit: couple other points.
Since Sherlock is the first figure with an actual hat, I wonder if it'll be a magnetic attachment or otherwise.
Oscar might not have his elephant pets, but he'll still come with a boatload of accessories so it balances out.

Something else to consider... They mentioned on that podcast how Sesame Street Wave 2/3 was dominated by blue characters, that's another point that makes me think :insatiable: might be the TBA figure, but we'll hopefully find out during the 2026 Toy Fare.

Also, I fully laugh at the thought that popped up in my mind's eye at either the Palisades Oscar The Grouch figure or NECA's upcoming version seated in NECA's TMNT Shredder Throne.

I think Elmo is the TBA figure. If they really want retail support Elmo is the go to.
Elmo is a good guess. I was originally thinking Cookie Monster, but Elmo makes a lot of sense. I agree, he is likely more appealing to retailers. I think NECA could also have avoided having him displayed at shows to avoid potential backlash from older collectors that want the line to focus on older characters. NECA may have decided the potential negativity would outweigh the benefit in the portion of collectors who would see the figure displayed at conventions. I could be totally off on that guess.

Has anyone seen how tall the Big Bird figure will be? I'm curious how it will compare to the Sweetums figure.

Its funny that Elmo is still seen as "new" when the show is 55 years old and he's been on the show for 40 of those 55 years. Thats like saying Bean Bunny is a new character for The Muppets. But yeah, there are still people who just HATE Elmo for some reason.

I think there are enough people who grew up on Elmo to mitigate the negative response. Where Elmon was once a 90s trend, he is now 90s nostalgia.
