I didn't know where to put this thread, so I thought I'd stuff it in here among the 'Happy Birthdays' and 'I had a Bad Days'

Anyway, my point is: One Word, "Trekkies"

Everyone knows what that means. Everyone knows of one.

Now, what are Muppet fans called? We don't have a name? Muppys? Muffits? Nada.

We need to find a name for ourselves!

Right. Now here's several options. And I think we need to come up with some more till we have ten options. Then we need to vote for the top name and go with that.

a. Muppets (as in the derogitory term for slightly stupid people)
b. Muffits (bit like Muffins without sounding a bit, you know)
c. Muppy or Muppies (still a little not right)
d. Muppites (I think this is better)
e. Muppatops (Perhaps too much like Mopatop)
f. Muppaholics (Somewhat lame, I think)
g. Muppaphones

I think you've got a pretty decent list goin' on here, Beau. Yer' a creative guy, I say what you've got is a good start. I think I like either Muppies, Muppites or Muppatops. I've always wanted to have a name for us. It'd be so much easier.
Some dude - Hey, you like the Muppets?
The Fan - I love the Muppets.
Some dude - Oh, so yer' a _____________.
The Fan - That's right!

Maybe a play on Jim's name?

Hensonite... sounds like something you'd know a lot about if you were in the science of metallurgy.

I prefer Muppaholic my self. You could take my little sister's name for me. But it's kinda demeaning. She calls me the Muppet Dork. Oh wait how about.....No wait I lost it.

My friend [who is a massive Trekkie] assumes we're called Muppies; I think we should go with that.

Hensonite is what I consider myself...though it does differ for me, as I personally consider Jim to be a religious figure.

I think that there isn't enough of a hardcore fan base to have a nickname like "Trekkie". Trekkies are fierce with Star Trek, and number in the hundreds of thousands; hardcore Muppet fans seem to be limited to around 300, 290 of which frequent MC.

Thats always been something I've disliked about being one of those full-in, devout Muppet fans; there are unfortunately way too many fair-weather, passive fans who "like" the Muppets. I don't like the Muppets; the Muppets are ingrained in my mind and are a part of my soul. Those who share that sentiment are the fans that would get a nickname like "Trekkie" (as I'm sure any true Star Trek fan would say the same thing about Star Trek). There just aren't that many who could honestly say that that is the way they feel about the Muppets and Jim Henson.

So...how about "Huge Muppet Fan?"

I dunno. I think we need a one word name somehow. Although I do like all the suggestions. That and I love how the Muppets are "ingrained in your mind and are a part of my soul" Cantus. Mind if I share the same sentiments?
