A crocodile built for an homage to Elton John and the Muppet Show!

Here's my blog post about it, including a few "making of" photos.

I would have liked to put more surface detail (scales, ridges, etc.) but ran out of time before he was needed on stage!

Sweet croc!

I've got the same Kermit tie you're wearing in the photo.

Thank you!

I'm working on a goose marionette for another number Red has in the works.

Nice croc! While it's a shame he didn't get the scales (a little more texture would have been nicer), he did turn out pretty sweet. I especially like his eyes. Thanks for sharing the creative process--for those of us who lack puppet-crafting skills, it's always amazing to watch the full creation happen.

BTW, how could anyone not vote for Red Snapper? She used a Monty Python song for her number, that's like tipping the scales in awesomeness!

...And yes, the scales/scales segue was intended.

Thanks! We're doing this particular number again in September, so I'll have plenty of time to properly finish the puppet (and probably add some rhinestones. After all, it's burlesque!) I'll be sure to post more pictures as the croc evolves!

The puppets in her Monty Python Number are a variation on my "Tennis Ball" rod-puppet idea, written about here.
