Just looked at this myself. Glad you're doing better pal. I know it's a very hard thing. I lost one grandparent before I was born but the other died when I was 7. Like Big Bird with the death of Mr. Hooper, I was faced with the tough realization for the first time of death really being the final time on Earth that we will see that person again. Then my first grandmother died when I was 20 and the other one just a few years ago when I was 34. I cried at both funerals. And I miss that last grandmother especially because she was so good to me. And likewise with the grandfather I lost at age seven.
He was always so good to me. (I was his FIRST grandchild after all!
). It's neat looking at pictures of when we would visit them when I was little and while everyone else was looking at the camera, my grandpa was looking at me.
Sad whenever we lose our loved ones but helps remind us to love and appreciate and spend time with the ones that remain all the more, while we have the chance. And gives the opportunity to draw closer to each other while we strengthen and comfort each other, as well as enjoy sharing all the special memories we have of the dearly departed one.
And thanks be to God that this life is not all there is!
