That really sucks, I knew someone who all that happened to.
What causes it exactly?
People can get kidney stones because other members of the family have had it, like your father, grandfather, uncle, etc. But kidney stones can be caused by not drinking enough water and drinking too much sugar type stuff like coke. My brother has had a few kidney stones and he's only 25. My dad has also had several of them as well and is in his mid 50's. I sure hope that I don't get them. From what I saw and heard from my brother and father, they hurt like heck. My brother said that's the worst pain he's ever felt! So kevin, I feel for ya man! Glad everything is okay.

Best advice, drink 8 to 10 glasses of water each day and lay low on cokes and sugar tea, etc.

I'm so sorry to hear that, kev. I had a one day bout with horrible pains, and had to go to the ER, also (my first time ever, it was pretty scary) but it turned out to be IBS

Muppetsdownunder, I have to have a fan on to drown out other noises; I'm an extraordinarily light sleeper. Needless to say I don't sleep well and never have. When I was little, I bought my first fan at a yard sale of my neighbors, so it's about time it died out on me (I'm 32 now, and it was old even then; it's been through several overhauls by my Papa Roy). So, I had to have the fan to sleep by. BUT--Saturday night it got warm in my apartment and I turned my fan on me, and now my throat is scratchy. I can't win. :frown: "Good Grief!"

Aaron, I always have time for my friends, even when sick. I just had to go into my files and send it to you. It's an old avatar of mine, taken from the whole TMS cast picture on the cover of the first album they produced.

McFraggle, my cousin has had 2 children and one kidney stone. She said she'd rather have children. It's pretty bad. It's worse pain than you get with the stomach flu which I had before the stone, but it's a lot quicker to get over in most cases. Mine went by quicker this time than the prior 2 stones I've had which took 2 or 3 days. That's torturous pain there.

Ryan is right about how kidney stones develop, it's also calcium based (as mine are) in some cases. Mine is because of dairy foods, but I can't stop eating/drinking dairy!! (I was bad and had a milkshake last night--stoopid me).

IBS is a horrible thing to be stuck with, too. I've not had it yet and I hope I don't ever.

Thanks everybody for well wishes and stuff. I'll be okay as long as you all don't get sick with anything. Keep well, stay happy!!

good to hear you're back up to feeling good, Kev. Without you, there were about half as many posts a day!

Sad news- now deliveries are being made on Thursday at the Memphis Suncoast so we have to wait two MORE days for Series 8- if we're lucky. :sympathy:

I'm up there Thursday after 5 pm more than likely...unless I get to go early from work and check it out. They have my name and number on a list for new Muppets merchandise, so hopefully they'll call me and say, "You have Muppets!"

I'm so excited about getting these figures.

Oh, Beth, got the message, been running like a goose with a chicken's head cut off (sorry, but didn't want to hurt the goose). I'll give ya a call soon.
