I haven't done a fan fic in awhile, so please enjoy this. It's my attempt at a Sesame Street "video" hosted by Murray Monster (aside from the fact that very few Sesame Street DVDs in the past years have had linking material, why hasn't Murray hosted any video releases?).

Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for Murray's Song Requests, the music request show hosted by the one and only Murray Monster. And now here's your host, Murray Monster!
Murray: Hi, I'm Murray from Sesame Street, and today I'll be presenting great songs from Sesame Street, both my own picks and your requests. First up, here's a song about being proud!

  • What I Am with Will.I.Am

Murray: And now, here's another song about being proud, as well as hair. In fact we've got two songs about hair!

  • I Like My Hair
  • Long Time No See

Murray: And now we're taking requests. Call up and make your re...
(phone rings; Murray answers)
Murray: Hello, Murray's Song Requests.
The Count: Yes, can you play some songs about counting?
Murray: Okay, how many songs about counting do you want me to play?
The Count: Surprise me!
Murray: Okay. Well, here are our next numbers!
The Count: That's one, one wonderful pun!

  • New Pinball #12
  • Little Miss Count Along
  • Ladybugs Picnic remake
  • 12345!

The Count: That's four, four wonderful numbers about counting! A-ha-ha! (thunder and lightning strikes; Murray shows small amount of fear; Count hangs up)
Murray: Okay, and now let's take out next requests!
Cookie Monster: Hello. Me want to hear songs about FOD!
Murray: Okay...
Cookie Monster: Me especially want to hear me own hit song Hey Food.
Murray: Well, what you want is what you get!
Cookie Mosnter: But not at McDonald's today; Grover worked there today.

  • Hey Food
  • Everybody Eats
  • Hurray for Broccolli

Murray: And now it's time for a safetly lesson and a spanish lesson. Here are songs about danger, in english and spanish!

  • Danger with Little Jerry
  • Peligro with Placido Flamingo

Murray: And now, I'm taking more...
(A ghost pops up)
Ghost: BOO!
Murray: (startled) AH!
Ghost: Oh, so sorry, but I would like to hear a song about being alive.
Murray: Okay, here's a couple of songs that show what's alive.

  • You're Alive
  • It's Alive

Murray: Well, we're still taking viewer requests, so keep 'em comming!
(phone rings)
Murray: Hello?
Elmo: Hi, this is Elmo.
Murray: Oh, hello Elmo.
Elmo: Elmo would like to hear some songs about friendship.
Murray: Okay, here they are!

  • What is Friend? (remake with Cookie Monster and Lulu)
  • Because We're Friends
  • Do You Like Me?
  • We Worked It Out
  • Still We Like Each Other

Murray: Well, our line's not busy, so here are some of my own personal favorites.

  • I Wonder
  • That Grouchy Face with James Taylor
  • You and You and Me
  • I've Got to Be Clean
  • Ev'rybody Be Yo'Self with Keb Mo

Murray: Well, that's all the time we have for today. Tune in next time when...
(phone rings)
Murray: Hello?
Oscar: Yes, I have a request.
Murray: But the show's over.
Oscar: Yes, that's why I'm making the request right now.
Murray: (sighs) Okay, what do you want us to play?
Oscar: Play that Katy Perry song.
Murray: But it's banned.
Oscar: I know, that's why I want it played.
Murray: Okay, here's Katy Perry, and I guess there won't be a next time.

Very............ Well the premise is just too similar to "Rock and Roll." But good idea, nonetheless.

I think it's been awhile since there was a new Sesame Street DVD themed around song sketches. With the exception of the Hot n Cold number (the only way I could see that on an official Sesame DVD would be if it were aimed at adults) I could honestly see this kind of DVD actually produced (well I guess it would have more celebrity numbers as well). I deliberately avoided song segments with fairly long non-music introductions (Hot n Cold is the biggest exception), because most song-themed DVDs usually cut introductions to the music part (otherwise I would have included a Don Music song).
