Only time will tell how this plays out.

If they move the movie to a smaller attraction space, that would be great. Even if they remove the anamatromic elements and just make it a movie with the animatronic parts being replaced with projections.

The question is how big of a change will this be? Will they "muppetify" the surrounding area of the coaster? Will the line leading up to the ride have muppet posers or animatronics, or will they just slap some paint on some props and call it a day?

The ride is fast and currently full of cut outs. Will this be what we see with The Muppets? Just some cut outs while a sound track plays? We already see in the tease that the cars will likely be the same with some paint added.

If they really retheme the space and make it a true Muppet area, it could be a good change. If they do a quick and cheap change by just repainting the exterior and doing minimal changes to the experience, it will disappointing.

This is just sad, and a huge middle finger to Jim Henson. Also, the Muppets are known for performing their crazy acts and songs and stuff like that, so I feel like MuppetVision 3D, it being not a ride, but just a 3D film in a theater where you can sit down and watch the Muppets, really fits the Muppet theme. I mean, you can argue that Disney's rides in their parks are based off of movies, which you watch, but with the Muppets, their whole thing is that they preform crazy acts and stuff, it’s not a movie or a show with a plot or a narrative, it's just a franchise where a bunch of weird puppet characters do weird stuff, and sure, there are Muppet movies where theres a story and stuff, but this ride is based off of the franchise, not a particular movie or anything, so making it into a roller coaster just kinda defeats the purpose and also why MuppetVision 3D was so great to begin with in my opinion.

Yeah, I'm not a roller coaster person, so this kind of sucks there won't be a Muppet attraction that I'll be able to go on. Also, I have a feeling that this definitely was not in the works when the rumors initially spread of Muppet Vision closing. This seems like Disney's attempt to not make the Muppet fandom completely upset.

It’s basically a case of putting a band-aid on an open wound. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it was a last-minute decision. A last-minute decision that can always turn into a first-thought decision of closing down anyway in the future.

This.
I feel like a dark ride would make more sense. They should do something similar to Street Mission at PortAventura in Spain.
