I sometimes watch THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW on PBS, and one of the episodes has a skit where a green frog is playing the piano.
Now ... for all you Henson historians: Is this indeed Kermit, or "pre-kermit"? And When did Kermit make his first appearance?

I think it is Kermit.

But I am sure if I am wrong someone will both correct me and yell at me for not knowing.

It is Kermit before he became rechristened as a "frog." He was beginning to mutate around that time though, because he was starting to look greener during this period.
