Hi Guys,

I posted on here two years ago as I was making a trip to New York for the first time from the UK and wanted to know if there was anything Muppety that I should see while I was there.

Well, two years on I am returning on 29th Nov til 4th Dec and again am asking if anyone knows of any thing Muppet/Fraggle/Henson I could check out while Im there?

I will visit the Muppet Whatnot Workshop in FAO Schwartz, but dont think I'll be buying one!

Are there any exhibits, and puppets on display anywhere in New York, Any other merchandise I should be looking for, etc?

Any help appreciated, Thanks Guys

Chris

Hi Chris

Bloke and I went to New York November about 5 years ago, Macy's were just putting their Christmas windows together. It happened to be The Muppets, I nearly died, such a Fluke but was so happy. Was the first time I'd ever seen them in real life.

This was one of the best Holidays I ever had.

Leanne

I think you're getting there JUST after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, where there will apparently be a Muppet float...

Yeah, you should turn around and go back to the Whatnot Workshop and get yourself a Muppet! LOL.

Who knows? You may find a hundred dollar bill lying on the ground when you get to NY.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the tips, I knew about the Whatnots at FAO and will of course be going to see them.

Leanne, you are so lucky to have seen the Macys windows 5 years ago, I last went to NY two years ago.

I was hoping with Kermit in the parade and with Letters to Santa coming out that Macy's might have had a Muppet window, but it doesnt seem likely now!

Im gonna try and get Emmet and Xmas Toy DVD's, and Statler & Waldorf Xmas decoration, guess if Im meant to see it I will.

I am gutted that Im not there for the Macys parade, but I am there for the Xmas lights switch on, also I booked this in January when no-one knew Kermit was gonna be at the parade. Parhaps he'll switch on the lights, lol!

Keep the suggestions coming, I heard there is a Jim Henson bench in Cental Park, anyone know where?

Chris

Hope you will have a great time Chris:smile:,

You can always visit the Museum of Television & Radio. I believe the museum has lost of rare Henson/Muppets videos to see.

Definitely, its Muppet material is excellent! It's called The Paley Center for Media now though, just to clarify.
