Here's a question Ive posed: Why cant they make a, say new york set rom-com, or an indie film that just happens to have a Muppet in it as a side character or co-star?
The range of emotional some of these characters imbue, I could honestly see it played straight.

There's only been two non Muppet movies that had Muppet cameos in them:
Night at the Museum 2 and Mr Magnorium Wonder Emporium.

A New York rom-com with a Muppet in it I could definitely see, not so much an indie film, at least not if you're talking about an actual Henson/ Disney authorized Muppet.

I like that idea, it would perhaps finally inject the Muppets into best actor or actress discussion.

I'm just disgusted that you'd compare Dr.Strangepork to Hitler
I think he meant more of an evil German scientist type of villain. In the original Muppet show pilot, the pig that's obviously a Strangepork prototype kind of fills that role

I declare this thread too cool to die. I'm on a Buffy the Vampire Slayer binge, so here goes-

Buffy-Annie-Sue Pig
Willow-Janice
Xander-Fozzie
Cordelia- Miss Piggy (I know she should be Buffy, but she's an exact personality match for Cordelia)
Rupert Giles- Bunsen Honeydew
Angel-Kermit
Spike-Link Hogthrob
Oz- Floyd Pepper
Principal Snyder- Sam the Eagle
