Definately observation. Dr Teeth/Dr John is obvious but the others I'm basing on physical simularity(sp?). Moon would be a more likely inspiration for Animal, being more famous. I just see an awful lot of Bozzio's personality/phyiscality in the way he plays in Animal.

Another I just thought of (purely observation again) is Lewis Kazagger = Howard Cosell(sp?)

i own "the last waltz", a rock-u-mentry about THE BAND, and their last concert at the winterland in san fran. the concert has both joni mitchell and dr. john, and i always noticed the similarity to janice and dr. teeth. i have always heard animal was keith moon, even years ago.
