Since the beginning, Muppets have always had an adult twist to their humor, and even the advertisement that Jim Henson filmed for The Muppet Show to send to CBS (before Lord Lew Grade produced TMS), the end of the commercial was, "What the **** was that all about?" and it was Kermit saying so. Janice has always said something out of the ordinary of the Muppets, but she's an adult character (forget how old she's supposed to be). And the whole crew of the Muppets cussed when Mac Davis was on the show singing "It's hard to be humble," and that went on national syndicated TV, even when it was shown on Odessey a few years ago. So, bad language has ALWAYS been there.

My point was, Ashanti is to play Dorothy in the movie, and she obviously won't be cussing in the movie, but she cussed in the Mature Audience program Punk'd. Snoop Dogg didn't cuss in VMX, but he was doing stuff outside of the Muppets film and they cut his scene from the movie because of it.

If they are going to let Ashanti, who has been seen cussing in programming which isn't Muppet related, then they should let us have back the cut scene of Snoop Dogg since he didn't cuss in the film with The Muppets regardless what he did outside of that. There was some new EM Band footage there that's gone now. I want it back to see Janice and Dr. Teeth in action again.

Outside of the once-in-a-while "I gotta pee!" or nose picking scenes, they aren't doing anything differently now than what was done long ago with Janice saying "I was walking on the beach naked and..." or "Still the management is cheerful though the whole joint's gone to ****." Same stuff, different smell--just depends on angles of view and opinions, I suppose. This is all only just my opinion. Nobody's 100% right.
Well said Kevin.

First alot of the artists the Muppets have worked with have done very adult projects, curse, and use adult humor/themes. Tim Curry, Michael Caine, Steve Martin, Whoopi Goldberg, Jeffery Tambor, Dom DeLuise, Mel Brooks, and the list gots on and on. Just because Ashinti swore does not mean she is a bad actress or proformer. Snoop Dog was not droped because of his lanuage off camera. It had to do with the fact that his scene was not important to the plot and the film was long.

To quote the special's creators, "As commonly occurs during this stage of production, we have had to cut several scenes originally planned for the movie which did not advance its storyline. Unfortunately, one of the scenes we have had to cut was a brief appearance by the talented artist Snoop Dogg. We are very proud of this TV movie and are confident that it will be a highlight of the holiday season."

Muppets OZ

 I agree no one is 100% right or wrong, I actually think it is more about ideas and dreams, and feelings than about right or wrong. As many things I do not agree with, I still love the Muppets and have great hopes for The Muppets Wizard of OZ. I also think that Disney will treat Muppet projects with great care and re-introduce the characters to us all. Classic Muppet films will be just that classic films, but I think it is a great time to add to there library of films with some new and possibly better stories.

I do not remember who originaly said it but it is a really great quote. For any one who has red the OZ books you know that it truly is a magical place where the old grow younger forever.

I have an online friend who worked with The Muppets in the past and has a friend who's working on the MWoO now. If I get any information, I'll pass it on, but of course I won't tell EVERYTHING! Don't want to spoil the goodness of it all.
