Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Here's the piece I did, but I think some people reported flaws in the design, especially since it was done before MuppetWiki was up and running which would have been a very helpful resource.
I saw it and I love it. Could you remake it Vic according to my tour. That would be nice. Also the photo for the balcony is off and doesnt look like The Muppet Show at all. I think someone should build The Muppet Theater and open it as a museum for people to visit and pose the muppet replicas as if you stepped into the Muppet Show. That would be so cool.
You know, I wish someone of us could get back inside the Hollywood Palace Theater because, after having been there to see the Live Muppet Show during MuppetFest!, I believe it definitely IS what the Muppet Theater would look like, from the upstairs party room to the lobby and otherwise. Fantastic place, and some photos and floor plans would be nice of that theater.
Well if you look at some pictures (but bot necessarily on the show) there is a complete balcony (not just Statler & Waldortf's boxes). It sits about halfway back above the audiences (one of the best pictures to see this is the wall murial at the old NYC Henson building). Here's a good shot of the seperate level. Likewise, even though it's never shown, there logically would be another box like Statler's and Waldorf's opposite them.
The only pictures I have are after the show with John Henson, Brian Henson, Dave Goelz, Jane Henson and...nothing of the actual theater. At the time I wasn't thinking about it. I was thinking about trying to get to Jerry Nelson to meet him and thank him, but security dragged me away (actually, Brian asked her to take the picture of us before I had to go--Thanks, Brian!).
