I would also love to see it released in season box sets. I, honestly, wouldn't mind buying that |and| the Best of the Muppet Show DVDs. And I'm not really one of those crazy I-must-have-every-single-variatiion collector types. I can see the upshot of having both.

I'd like to be able to sit down and watch them all in order, but I also like the idea of watching the ones grouped by theme. It's nice to watch the Alice Cooper and Vincent Price ones on Halloween. But it wouldn't be |as nice| if you had to grab more than one DVD and switch 'em around every thirty minutes.

Now, sure, I'd hope there would be different extras on the season packs, but it really wouldn't matter. I'd just like to have the ability to watch them in order. If they'd restore the original openings on season one, that would be enough of an extra, in my opinion.

Do I think they will do it? Nah. For the same reasons Muppetlabs suggested. But it |would| be nice if they did, wouldn't it?

Sh. finally watched the last episode left on the first ten volumes and is now feeling lonely.

Maybe if Disney were to get the company and release on Buena Vista !

I wish they would stuff more episodes on each disc. I know a DVD can hold 6-7 half hour (which boils down to about 22min) episodes easily. Only 3 on a disc seems like a waste. I'd rather have the complete series on 20 discs instead of spread out over 40 (if they eventually end up releasing every episode.)

Again, I'd cite the kid viewing factor. Too long and kid's lose interest. That's why kid's movies only last about an hour and a half tops.

Thanks, all, for your answers. I wait with bated breath for the Columbia DVDs. For that, and for every Palisades figure on pre-order.

Just brush your teeth, that should take care of it, or try a new mouthwash

Has anyone just flat-out asked Columbia Tristar which episodes will be on the last five volumes? I did this with Time-Life and it worked.

If I had to guess, I'd say some of the following episodes are decent bets:

Paul Williams
Ben Vereen
Twiggy
Ethel Merman
Milton Berle
Bernadette Peters
Loretta Lynn
Roger Miller
Lynn Redgrave
Dyan Cannon
Christopher Reeve
Alan Arkin
Loretta Swit

Seriously, just ask and wait for a response. You may be surprised.

Nah. That would be too easy.

Besides I'm sure most of us have out our Magic 8 Ball, Ouija Board, and/or have called Miss Cleo...

I agree with Ken on packing seasons on a DVD. I just got the Simpsons season 2 DVD. It is awesome. The way I see it, for 35 dollars and twenty two episodes you get an episode for less than two dollars and there are tons of extras. It costs about 5 dollars an episode for the Muppet Show. Now I have read this board and I understand some of the reasoning, but they really should have packed more shows onto each DVD. I don't really want to pay for packaging on a DVD. Don't get me wrong, I am glad they are putting them out. Does anybody know if they will release all 20 in a boxed set? Time Life released their ten at a discount if you bought them all together.
