Muppet Robin Hood comic coming April 29, 2009

The best part of Muppet Robin Hood being a comic? We don't get some human actor as Robin Hood and Prince John, leaving the muppets to do supporting roles.

I probably have to study the covers more... but who is Prince John portrayed as in these comics?

There are some shots in the Muppet Show comic from the waist down as well. I believe the comics are a way to open up the Muppet world a little more and work to the strength of the drawn medium. Full body Muppets are good with me. Actually I prefer that. I believe the Robin Hood will have lots of dynamic head-to-toe Muppets. It is an adventure.

Based on what I've seen online, it seems that only half the legs are shown. Some full-body shots are of them sitting, which wouldn't be too hard to do with puppets. Though I have seen that the "At the Dance" comic from the preview issue shows them dancing in full form.

I wonder if these comics will have a lot of obscure characters, like The Muppet Show Comic Book. I don't think we know who the majority of merry men are.

Well, Gonzo is the main "villian" the Guy of Gisbourne, who works for Prince John. I'm not sure who is playing PJ himself...

I'd love to see someone like J.P. Grosse play that character... I could somehow see Sam the Eagle as the rightful King of England as well.

I'm definitely getting this one and TMS #2 as soon as I am able. I had to search several comic shops last time, and I was only a week late. And since it's Free Comic Day, I wanna beat the rush.
