1. So the characters from BIBBH you gave were from specials? Did they all appear in episodes of the show which were then elevated to the category of specials by being released on DVD?
2 Never knew about the reasoning behind both the Christmas Toy and the Tale of the Bunny Picnic. Since I saw the Tale of the Bunny Picnic on Nickelodeon, which took to showing the various specials connected to JHH during the early 90's when I still had better sight but not called JHH, I naturally thought that Tale of the Bunny Picnic was part of JHH. But it's entirely possible that it wasn't, in any case those characters would've been next on my list of additions.
3 Since you brought it up, if you could, please help by providing a list of the named characters from Tale of the Bunny Picnic. Descripts to tell who's who would be nice as well, but if you don't have them, it'll be understood so long as you send in the names.
4 Did you see the two episodes of JHH detailed on
www.toughpigs.com or did you learn of them after reading through said transcripts much like myself? If you have indded watched those two episodes, then please visit a thread I started here called "Questions about Jim Henson Hour" where I asked about a certain batch of characters.
Any help with the above will be greatly appreciated and will go a looong way towards improving my listings. Thanks for your help and have a good day.
1. I'm not sure. I found out they were from a special according to an article from Muppet Central. They might be from the TV series, too, since it's in two parts, and both parts have a theme song and ending credits.
2. Glad to help. Incidentally, if you want any more descriptions of characters from other specials (i.e.: Emmet Otter, Christmas Toy), post me here and I'll give you a detailed list whenever I can (I got lots of free time, and next week I get half the week off, so I can work on them.)
3. As soon as I read this message, I set out to give you a list of names and descriptions of the Muppet cast in "Bunny Picnic". I assume that you already know what Bean looks like, so the rest of the bunnies are based on that kind of Muppet construction.
And now, the list!:
(NOTE: All of the bunnies have a little tuft of fur on their head between their ears, like Bean.
LUGSY--Bean's big brother; he's brown with a white line that goes down from his forehead to his belly. He has a pink nose, a white tail, moving eyelids, and wears a green jacket with a square pattern on it, and also wears a red necktie with white polka-dots
TWITCH--Bean's big sister; she's white and has a bit more hair/feathers on her head (not really longer, it sort of collects around the back of her ears). She has a pink nose, and wears a yellow dress decorated with dark speckles, and has puffy, short sleeves.
BABBLE--She's light brown with tan hair that's a bit longer than the others and surrounds the lower half of her ears. She has a pink nose, and wears a blue/white checkered sleeveless dress and a blue/white checkered bow in her hair, in front of her right ear.
SNORT--(Possibly David Rudman's first Muppet) Babble's big brother. He's honey-colored with some feathers in his hair a bit long. He has a pink nose, and has a white line tnat goes from between his eyes to his nose. He wore a light blue short-sleeved shirt and brown pants with suspenders.
BULBOUS--Grey, with floppy ears and sleepy eyes. His fur is shorter around his off-white muzzle, and his muzzle and pink nose are also a bit bigger than the other bunnies. He wore a tan turtleneck shirt.
MOTHER--Bean's mother; she's off-white, and has lashes. Her muzzle is a bit smaller and has a pink nose. She wears a dark pink dress with puffy sleeves and a white collar/ cuffs. Her cheeks have a bit of pink in them.
FATHER--Bean's father; brownish-grey with slightly-droopy ears. He has a grey moustache under his pink nose, and has small eyebrows. He wears a white shirt with vertical lines, a blue vest, and a red bowtie.
BABY--Bean's baby sister; she doesn't have a name, but is white, wears a pink shirt, and only has one tooth (she's very adorable)
GREAT-GRANDMOTHER--great-great-great-great grandmother of Bean; she's gray with an off-white muzzle, with no teeth and she's built with a squint in her eyes. She has a pinkish-grey nose, and wears a lavendar cap (her ears are curled inside and it makes her look like a mouse), a dress with a flower-design, and wears two pairs of bifocals (and carrys a third). She wears a yellow shawl around her arms and the back of her skirt.
STORYTELLER--light brown; He has sleepy eyes, and wears a straw hat with a red ribbon and feathers on it (his ears come out of it). He wears a green jacket and blue pants, both with several patches on them. He also wears a yellow/orange checkered shirt and a marroon neck-kerchief.
BE-BOP--he's gray, with a slightly long snout, floppy ears, and a greyish-pink nose. He wears sunglasses, has very short brown hair, and wears a lavendar jacket with vertical white stripes, as well as a blue necktie.
MAYOR BUNNYPARTE--a chubby gray rabbit with a white snout, floppy ears, and pink nose. He wears an off-brown jacket and slacks, both with square designs. He wears a brown derby, brown necktie, white shirt, and blue vest. He wears a golden medal around his neck.
DOG--Thin, tan fur, with a longish-snout (with a black nose), and has floppy ears that are able to jerk up, like his tan eyebrow. He wears a brown collar and his tongue flops out of his mouth, and also has a long tail, along with small black eyes with brown detail around them. At the end of the special, Be-Bop decides to name him "DE-DOP-DE-DIDDLEY-DOG-BOP"
FARMER--full-body "costume" character designed to look like a Muppet human, with brown boots, olive pants w/suspenders, and he also wears a blue shirt with a white undershirt. He wears a green hat with a floppy rim around it, and has frizzy red hair and moustache. His skin is sort of a reddish-peach color, and his sleepy eyes are under his hat.
4. I read the two JHH episodes from the Tough Pigs website.
