Tonight on the Family Guy Almost Live they did a bit where different actors tried out for various, unfitting roles in movies, and the last one was (I'm pretty sure) Seth McFarlane using a Kermit puppet, auditioning for Philadelphia... Vic Romano, please tell me you saw this!

 "You can't fire me for having AIDS! I'll sue! I'd be more upset, but tonight our guest star is the one and only John Denver, YAAAAY!"

"I think you got the part."

 "Really?"

"Yeah. That was the gayest thing I've ever seen."

It was definitely Seth. He usually performs Kermit for Family Guy, even doing an impromptu reference of the Great Muppet Caper's credit sequence in the commentary for the Stewie Griffin Untold Story DVD.

Honestly, he wasn't half that bad as a puppeteer.

The Colbert Report dedicated their whole first segment to Semame Street. Look it up, it was hilarious.
Also, there was something on the Office where they referenced the Swedish Chef. Andy did an accent and Kevin asked him to do the Swedish Chef. Andy said he didn't know who that was and Kevin said 'He lives on Sesame Street dumba$' Sorry, I tried to censor it more but it wanted to post a link and I didn't wanna do that.

lol I hope the joke of that was that Kevin was the dummie, not knowing that Chef's from The Muppet Show.

I saw that tonight! Theyre always making Muppet/Sesame references on The Office(my fave show on tv!), so Im surprised they conflated Muppet Show with Sesame Street.

Btw, is Friends, Robot Chicken and the film Forgetting Sarah Marshall the only times Fraggle Rock has been referenced?

One episode of Family Guy mentioned something about Iraq being Fraggle Iraq or something, but I think that's it. :smirk: I love the Colbert Report and The Office, especially when they make Muppet references!

Well, if this isn't technically the place to put it, so sue me ...

On the commentary video to Nostalgia Critic's Sonic the Hedgehog video, he and Rob mention that Dr. Robotnik looks like the Swedish Chef.

yesterday was Doctor Who day as the new special was shown on BBC1.
To celebrate, my family watched some of our favourite episodes, one of which being Tooth and Claw from the new series 2.

right at the beginning when The Doctor thinks they have arrived in 1979 he mentions TMM as one of the big things that happened that year and then says "I love that film"

Today's episode of Jeopardy had a "40 Years of Sesame Street" category.
The $1000 question was identifying Will Lee's character on Sesame Street.
There was also a question about Cookie Monster and one about Ernie's "Rubber Duckie" song. I didn't get to see the other questions though. But nice to see Sesame Street recognized- Alex Trebek mentioned that it premiered Nov. 10, 1969.:wisdom::stick_out_tongue::frown:
