I'm sure Disney will release the complete version sometime, but until then I'd like to watch whatever I can! Guess I could wait to see if WAL*MART gets the super-duper-edited version again this year though for 10 bucks.

The edit used on the UK DVD was done in either 1988 or 1989. It's the version that been aired (at least in the US and Canada) ever since. Exactly why those two scenes were censored is unclear - the most likely explanation is to get the running time down in order to fit more commercials in. It's not particularly hard to get hold of - the UK has had it on home video since 1989 and I know many folks in the US and Canada who have off-air recordings of it.

The *un*edited version, on the other hand, hasn't been seen since its original airing in December 1987. It's a bugger to get hold of, and this is the reason that people care about those "wee little clips" ;-)
