I didn't realize Jerry and Richard were paired up that much either. I also totally forgot that Steve did Wembly and Dave did Boober. I just wish they'd pair Gonzo up with Kermit and Fozzie more. Rizzo is great but you can't beat the frog, unless you have a club  . And it seemed to me that Frank and Steve didn't work all that well together, but Eric and Steve seem to work well. Maybe that's why Fozzie didn't really interact with Kermit since Jim died. With Piggy you can't avoid it though.

Edit: BTW. Again it's weird that I find myself seeing a huge difference between Rizzo and Kermit though both are done by Steve. There is no similarity in the voices, untill Kermit kaughs abyway. And the performance is totally different too. With Jim you could hear a joining factor between all his characters, but with Steve Kermit is a voice all by itself. Just another one of those weird and pointless observations.

I agree. You'd never know Kermit and Rizzo are the same voice if you didn't know about the Muppet Performers and things like that. I recently heard a song on Muppet Central Radio (I forget which one it was), but anyway that was Steve performing both of them. At least I think it was. By the way, Wiggy, in answer to your question, I read somewhere that Dave performed Rizzo in some scenes in "Muppet Classic Theater" when Steve was performing Kermit. I hope that info helps. That's probably how they did that when Kermit and Rizzo were seen together in MTI and MFS and they just had Steve dub the voice in later. I'm just guessing though.

Yeah that's how they did it. If you watch MCT there is a scene where Steve is doing Rizzo but Kermit is behind him. I think it's just before the intermission. Anyway, Kermit and the muppets in the crowd start worrying about what an intermission is but Kermit can't talk since Steve is doing Rizzo. It's really weird to see Kermit as a mute lol.

Also, in the out takes from MFS. When Pepe sings, "Know when to hold them. Know when to fold them" Kermit and Clifford start to sing along, but again Steve was doing Rizzo so Kermit can't talk. lol

Why do they do this to themselves?

"Great points, Chilly. I never thought of all that before now."

Thanks, Foz. I only started noticing it because Jerry Juhl once pointed it out, I think in the interview on this website.

"I just wish they'd pair Gonzo up with Kermit and Fozzie more."

Now that Eric's doing Fozzie, we may see this classic threesome again more. Kermit and Gonzo did a lot of talk show appearances together, of course--because, again, Steve and Dave.

Your observation about Steve's Kermit is neither weird nor pointless. I can hear similarities between Rizzo and Bean, but not between either of them and Kermit.

"And it seemed to me that Frank and Steve didn't work all that well together, but Eric and Steve seem to work well. Maybe that's why Fozzie didn't really interact with Kermit since Jim died."

I agree completely.

"Why do they do this to themselves?"

The funny thing is, I never noticed any problems with dubbing while Jim was still alive, but there seem to be a lot of them now. :sympathy: I don't think there's any deep significance to that, but it is unusual and interesting to note.

Sometimes on TMS some of Jim's characters would walk by Kermit, move their mouth, and say nothing. It happens alot really. The probl;em isn't really with the dubbing, it's with the performer who plays another person's character in the background. I guess they are just extra puppetters who want to show what they can do mute.

Speaking of Dave and Steve as a great team, I think Steve should start doing Statler. Jerry and Dave don't have that timing that Richard and Jim did, but Steve and Dave seem to have it. Plus, Jerry should really start doing his old characters again. I miss Floyd, Pops, Robin, Lew, Dr. Starngepork and all the back ground stuff he did too.

What...another Steve/Dave team? LOL!

Most of Jerry's characters were on hand for VMMCM. I do miss Dr. Strangepork, though, and Link as well. :sympathy:

Sure they were there but not used as much. Though Statler got some shots in but Flyod was cut and Crazy Harry hasn't been seen in awhile I think and more Gobo!
