Muppet Apperiance on Star Wars DVD

If you get the original Star Wars trilogy DVD set coming out later this month you will not only get the treat of three great films, but also a few Muppet connections.

Frank Oz is seen on the Bonus Features disk talking about his role as Yoda in two of the three films in the trilogy (and all three of the new trilogy films). Their is also part of the documentaries and commentaries talking about Frank, the puppet used, and working with puppets.

Also on the bonue features disk in one of the still galleries showing behind the scenes photos from the set of the movies, you'll see several shots of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy on Dagobah (Yoda's home planet). I guess Frank Oz (Yoda) & Jim Henson (who visited the set of the Empire Strikes Back alot, and was original going to perform Yoda) brought the puppets by the set one day.

Cool! I've heard there was a day when Frank Oz brought out Miss Piggy to train Luke, so it will be really neat to see the pictures!

Whoah, so it is true then? Man I wish there was footage of this...thanks for the heads up. So weird, and here we thought Star Wars had come to the Muppet Show set, not the other way around!

Cant wait to get this tuesday...even if Lucas royally ruined the trilogy.

The DVDs are great.

Although Lucas did tinker with the films (again). Just to mention a few changes like: adding Episode 2&3 actor Hayden Christenson in the end of Return of the Jedi as the Ghost of Anikin, replacing Baba Fett's voice with the actor from Episode 2&3, redoing the CG Jabba from the Special Edition in A New Hope to look more real, adding the actor who played Palpitine in Return of the Jedi, aswell as Episodes 1, 2, & 3 as the hologram Emporer in The Empire Strikes Back, tweeking the greedo shooting first scene in A new Hope (again), plus fixing some other minor details here and there to look "better".

:grouchy:

Their is a picture of Kermit, Piggy, Luke, and Yoda in the photo gallary for The Empire Strikes back, along with a picture of Jim Henson and Frank Oz on the set. The documentary features Frank and talkes alot about him bringing the puppet of yoda to life and how the character must be believeable for the effect to work. Great stuff!
