I was wondering for the sake of trivia, what would be the single word that you can get the most spin off words, without rearranging the letters? So far, I have come up with Hippopotamus-which has Hi,Hip,Pop,Pot,Hippo,Po,A,I,Am,and Us.
just thought of another-Hippodrome-which has Hi,Hip,Hippo,Pod,
Drome,Rome,Po,I,and Me.Hippopotamus still wins.
Anybody got a better word? I wonder if supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is a word!
still cant get as many words out of it as I did with hippopotamus!

I thought the longest word in the english language might be a good place to look: antidisestablishmentarianism.

Sure enough I got 17 words from it in a couple of minutes and there's probably a load more. Here's what I came up with in no particular order: ant, establish, establishment, tide, table, mental, mentalism, British, bile, diesel, mesh, ride, methane, train, names, stable, blister.

I'm curious to see how many more there are, but I can't be bothered just now.

Adding to what hoopless got from antidisestablishmentarianism:

Arm, set, stab, shine, art, time, tart, tar, mint, nine, and I'm sure there's still a bunch more.

I was looking for words that can be picked out without rearranging the letters, so I can only find 11.But it beats Hippopotamus.I found that long words dont necessarily give you more words. It all depends on how the letters are arranged.
