The Answers

1. Which one of these songs is not associated with Ernie?

B. "Stop!"

To my knowledge, Ernie never sang that particular song.

2. Which one of these Muppets never uttered a word during his time on Sesame Street?

C. Sully

Sully was a construction worker, the "silent partner" to his pal Biff.

3. What kind of food did Ben Stiller dress up as when he made a guest appearance on "Sesame Street"?

A. A cheese

...and was promptly chased by two hungry Anything Muppets.

4. Throughout the years, many folks have sung "Bein' Green" with a member of or the entire Sesame Street gang. Who never did so?

D. Frank Sinatra

Frank Sinatra, however, did record "Bein' Green" in the late 60's.

5. What did Luis and Maria name their baby girl?

C. Gabriela

Gabriela is also the name of Sonia Manzano's real-life daughter.

6. What is Maria's maiden name?

B. Figueroa

In fact, on several episodes, Maria's mother showed up on the Street. Luis still couldn't adjust to calling her "Mom" instead of "Mrs. Figueroa" after he married Maria.

7. What show did Emilio Delgado (Luis) appear on occasionally while still performing in "Sesame Street"?

C. Lou Grant

He played a character named Castillo.

8. On which Sesame Street record did the Honkers make their debut?

D. Sesame Street Sing-Along

They honked their way through "B-I-N-G-O" on this record!

9. Elmo's made a lot of celebrity friends over the years. Who hasn't he rubbed elbows with yet?

C. Billy Crystal

To my knowledge, Elmo hasn't hung out with "Mr. Saturday Night" yet. But don't get me started on that...

10. True or False: Frank Oz directed "Follow That Bird".

B. False

Although Frank Oz did direct lots of movies, this wasn't one of them.

11. Often Muppet characters sound similar to one another (Bert/Fozzie, Kermit/Ernie). Kevin Clash used the voice of one of his pre-Henson characters (Goriddle Gorilla) for which "Sesame Street" character?

D. Hoots the Owl

I wonder if he thought no one would know?

12. How many "nose jobs" has Herry undergone?

C. 3

He started out with a blue, furry nose, then a large purple nose, then a small purple nose, which he has to this day.

13. What instrument does Hoots the Owl play?

C. Saxophone

He also runs a nightspot called Birdland and teaches Ernie how to blow the sax (after Ernie puts down the duckie)!

14. True or false: everyone who appeared in Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry, Be Happy" video has also appeared on "Sesame Street".

A. True

Bobby himself sang the ABC's with Hoots and some kids, Robin Williams appeared in a segment with Elmo, and Bill Irwin has appeared as Mr. Noodle on "Elmo's World". They were the only three people who were in the video for Bobby McFerrin's smash "Don't Worry, Be Happy".

15. In which "Muppet Newsflash" did Gladys the cow appear?

A. Jack and Jill

It seems that everyone EXCEPT Jill wanted to join Jack on his trip up the hill!

16. How were the Anything Muppets introduced?

B. Gordon assembled their faces

After Gordon (Matt Robinson) assembled their faces, the Anything Muppets sang "Consider Yourself" with him.

17. What song does Oscar sing with Farley?

B. Let A Frown Be Your Umbrella

Of course, Farley was singing it as "Let A Smile Be Your Umbrella" and Oscar modified it.

18. Which human cast member did George Benson duet with on "A Friend For All Seasons" when he appeared on "Sesame Street"?

A. Olivia

However, he didn't perform it with Alaina Reed on the "In Harmony" CD. Darn!

19. How many dwarfs were at the cottage visited by Snow White in an early-70's skit?

B. 6

The Seven Dwarfs were in the house down the street!

20. True or False: Harvey Kneeslapper has appeared on a "Sesame Street" record/tape/CD.

Harvey sang "Ha Ha" with Herry and Big Bird on "The Muppet Alphabet Album", later reissued as "Sing The Alphabet".
