Spent 3+ hours pouring through disc two of Monsters Inc...wow! Pixar has really out done themselves this time! I thought there would only be a couple outtakes and a short or two, BOY WAS I WRONG!

We have:
the brand new "Mikes New Car" short
the "Monsters Inc company play" short
the academy award winning "For the birds" short(of which MC's very own Karen Prell was one of the animators on)
TONS of outtakes...TONS! Theres even a outtake with Rex from Toy Story, too much. Also, in the behind the scenes they show an insane amount of extra and deleted scenes. these include a tour of monstropoils(its like star tours) and the city...a deleted cgi scene with sully working in the bottom of the factory, lots of demo test outtakes, etc. The company tour is also too much...and that monkey! Who the heck wouldnt want to work at Pixar?

And thats all for starters. If ya only get one dvd this year,
make sure its the Monstes Inc double disc(and KSY for the extras:wink:

Does anyone know if Mike's New car, the outtakes, and such are on video, too?

I heard Mikes New Car is definately on the vhs. Not sure if For the Birds or any other stuff is. Finding Nemo might be too.

Wow, Monsters Inc is now the single biggest opening several day movie for sale ever. Shrek only wishes they could have half those sales(perhaps more people do like state of the art Pixar cgi versus ugly pastel cgi)

Also, Monsters Inc dvd has to be one of the most fan nugget goodie loaded dvd 2-disc special editions of all time.

Loved the commentary for "Mike's New Car". That was an unexpected surprise! I always wondered why CGI water was hard to do... now I know!

And Beaker... er, I'm a bit confused on why you keep calling Shrek "pastel CGI". If you're speaking literally, then I gotta disagree. "Bug's Life" is *the* most "pastel" CGI out there... all the ants are the color of Easter M&Ms!

For whatever reason, Monsters Inc is so superior.

1) Original story line. What a fantastic idea. Shrek reminded me of "Into the Woods" concepts mixed with those Stinky Cheese Man books.

2) Eddie Murphy does not belong in family entertainment. All those double entendres that he uses were , but expected from him. Why do they ruin so many classic movies by remaking them with him? *Here Markus pauses to gag*

3) Lovable characters. Boo and her Fuzzy Blue Guardian. I laughed, I cried. It moved me Bob.

Sure! Rub it in my face that I have an old VHS player I got last year!

As far As Shrek goes, I can't decide between the two, since I like both so much!
