Moderators activating accounts

When a new member joins? Is it necessary for a moderator to activate their acount? Because a new gal joined yesterday, and told me and ChrisyB that she couldn't post or anything.

Just wondering...

It depends on the account how quickly activation takes place, but her account is now active.
