here is yet another one of y jim henson Hour outlines, this one featuring the Monkees.

Cold Opening/ Muppet Central
A group of monkeys (resembling the monkees, one even wears a hat like Mike Nessmith did) try to audition, singing the monkees theme song.

Jim Hensons Introduction
Jim Henson tells viewers to prepare for some great music.

Introduction/ Muppet Central
kermit announces that The Monkees are guest stars (yes, all four Monkees--Mike Nessmith, Mickey Dolenz, Peter Tork, and Davey Jones) and that Muppet Central will be sponsoring a "Battle of the Bands" contest.

Muppet Central
Flash, Clifford, Digit, Beard and the Solid Foam Drummer hope that they win the contest, and get ready.

battle of the bands
Fozzie bear is the host of the contest, and Statler and waldorf are the judges. Fozzie introduces the opening number, with the monkees.

Opening Number: We're The Monkees
The Monkees perform the theme song from their series, and are joined by the monkeys from the beginning of the show.

Statler and Waldorf
they comment that the monkees sing like monkeys.

Backstage
The Solid Foam band makes it to the battle of the bands. Clifford, Beard, Digit and the drummer confront Dr. Teeth, Janice, Animal, and Lips. the solid foam embers start feeling unconfident.

Battle of the Bands
fozzie introduces Dr. teeth and the Electric mayhem.

Electric Mayhem Number
the Electric Mayhem sings an original song. Dr. Teeth sings lead vocals, and Floyd and Janice provide back-up vocals, with Animal giving the occassional line.

Muppet Central
kermit, gonzo, vicki, bean, and leon all enjoyed that, although bean thinks it should have been cuter and leon thinks it should have been wilder.

Chicken Number
A group of chickens cluck to a song.

Statler and Waldorf
they cluck their reviews.

backstage
Flash thinks that the band doesn't have a chance to win, especially sinc ethey are competing against two of the oldest and greatest rock groups ever.

Muppet Central
Fleet Scribbler asks Kermit if it is true that Solid Foam (and also the electric mayhem) doesn't really play their own instruments. Waldo turns into a giant piano and crushes Fleet.

Battle of the Bands
Fozzie introduces Solid Foam.

Solid Foam Number
Flash sings lead vocals on this original song, while beard occassionally gets a line.

Muppet Central
kermit can't decide who he likes better: the electric mayhem or solid foam.

Backstage
Dr. Teeth, Floyd, and Janice think that solid foam was actually good, while Animal and Zoot don't agree. Flash and Clifford enter, and Dr. teeth gives a pleaseant comment while animal attacks them. when he sees the solid foam drummer, he chases her, shouting "WOMAN! WOMAN!"

battle of the bands
Fozzie reads the envelope to abbounce the winner, which ends up being the chicken band. the Chickens celebrate.

Muppet Central
Gonzo and Camillia are happy that their favorite group won.

Battle of the Bands
a police officer mentions that the chickens were not qualified for being part of the contest, so the award goes to the second best band: The Monkees.

backstage
various members of both solid foam and the electric mayhem are satisfied with the winning choice.

Closing Number: last train to Clarksville
The Monkees invite all participaiting bands (including ones that weren't shown competing, like lobbock lou and his jughuggers, geri and the attrics, and bobby bensons baby band) for the closing number. the muppets at muppet central also sing along.

Jim Hensons Closing
Jim Henson said that he wanted the chickens to win.

Man, I just kept laughing at this! The chickens were great, and Kermit not being able to pick between solid foam and electric mayhem, and all the bands' reactions to each other, and the monkeys, and the monkees... great!
