Click on, or copy and paste the link below to see comparison shots of Palisades and JITB toys. Click on the pic link too!
The promotion is called "Muppets Take Hollywood". I Found out at the Palisades boards that Muppets toys were being sold as the kids meal premiums at JITB. I was even more surprised to find out that they're essentially action figures!! There are 7 characters, all well done considering they're kids meal toys. The scale is a bit off, but there is a nice surprise...
Kermit: 3 points of articulation, head and shoulders. He's holding a Megaphone and a clipboard. The sculpt is great, they even have the "stress" marks sculpted in the neck.
Miss Piggy: 3 points of articulation, head and shoulders. She's holdering her purse and a couple of shopping bags. This is a long haired pig, wearing a red dress, sunglases on her forehead, and a scarf.
Fozzie: 5! points of articulation, head, shoulders, and legs. He has a bannana in one hand, a cell pkone in the other, and it's made to look like he could be talking into either one, or both.
Gonzo: 4 points of articulation, head, shoulders, and waist. He's wearing a very Super Dave/Evil Knevil esque outfit and a crash helmet.
Animal: 4 pints of articulation, head, shoulders, and waist. He's wearing a shirt that says ANIMAL and is holding drumsticks.
Swedish Chef: 3 (2) points of articulation, head and shoulders. He's holding a tray of what I assume to be Swedish Meatballs with both hands, that's why the articulation can be considered 2 points.
AND...
Pepe!!!!: 5! points of articulation, head, upper arms (they movein unison so I counted it as 1), lower arms (move seperately), and waist. Pepe is holing a clapboard in his lower left hand, but the clapboard doesn't open and close (the only reason i expected it to is because I've been spoiled by Palisades). Pepe is also attached to the top half of a clam, and is not made to be removed from it. A sharp knife (with adult supervision) and 5 minutes will remove him nicely and he will stand on his own. Once removed his scale with the Palisades line is just about right on, so he should tide you over till Series 5
All of the toys come with a stand in the shape of a star, that says Muppets on it. They also all come with a "pamphlet" describing the character, and advertising the Palisades toys series 1-4, the Muppet Show DVD's and the new soundtrack.
