Meh... eh... whoever cares can elaborate if they want.

I never cared for the 1999 series (other than the Weird Al Guest Cameo episode) or its sequel, and the TV sitcom was just there. And those later seasons were even MORE awful.

I did see one of the 1960's cartoons once and all I can say is, they made the right choice cutting Sabrina free and letting the Groovy Goolies shine in their own show.

I guess this is like that stupid ginzu-manga twist they gave the comic about 10 years back. Meh... I bet it's going straight to cable anyway.

Like I said, they already did that like 10 years ago trying to make Sabrina a ginzu manga. But the question is, if you don't care about the property anyway, does it even matter?

Besides, I'm sure this will be all over Europe and we'll get it a year or two later anyway.

Good point...I haven't cared since whenever the main show ended...and Sabrina's Secret life kinda sucked. The Animated Series wasn't as bad.

Conceptually, Secret Life should have worked. But it's all the same "I don't want anyone to know I'm really a witch" gags over and over. in fact, the only highlight of that show was the concept that her regular teachers were her magic teachers, causing her worlds to collide... but they could have done it... I dunno... better? And paid extra to keep Nick Bakay as Salem (probably a Canadian Union thing... though DIC waves that every so often to get a celeb voice in the cast). The other series was alright I guess, but I only really liked the Weird Al cameo episode that they never play in rotation.

I really wish Steve Holland and Bill Kopp never split up. Their shows were missing something since the split. I love Mad Jack the Pirate, but it could have reached a higher potential with both of them together.

I pray for some big reunion project. Eek was AWESOME!

I'm a big fan of the first few seasons of the live action TV show, so I don't hate Sabrina... but the art looks really bad to me. I'm probably going to ignore this, as I didn't even know about the Secret Life series.

I'm not surprised you didn't. It wasn't exactly readily available in the US at any rate. I remember seeing it on the Early Weekday morning Wonderful World of DIC years ago... it was rerun fir a brief time on CBS's Saturday Morning last year, but it rotated with the other cartoon.

It really wasn't that great. The other series at least had some humor to it, courtesy of Steve Holland to some extent...

That...doesn't look like an animated Sabrina. That looks like an attempt to make a witch-themed super hero (Super Witch, Defender of Magic! Da da-da!). And Salem looks like he escaped from the Littlest Pet Shop.

I'm trying to find info on the 2004 Sabrina Ginzu-manga (unless you haven't seen me previously explain it, it's basically American comics trying to ape Japanese ones and pass them off as manga... named after the not Japanese Ginzo knives...e.i. half of anything that was published by Tokyopop)..... but I'm pretty sure the concepts between that and Young Salem were pretty much the same as in this new show, so they were going in that direction anyway...

If anyone has read those and can confirm anything, please feel free to post here.

I don't really follow Archie Comics... I really love the Archie's Weird Mysteries show and the DIC Movie toons Archie telefilm that was clearly sort of based on that series... but other than the fact I like Jughead, I'm only in Archie for their versions of TMNT and especially Mega Man. I want to say Sonic, but I've been out of touch, and nothing made sense until the reboot arc. I also liked their Sonic X series, but I only got a few of those.
